dunno if this is the right place to post this but i was not long ago told about a pig hunter in the innisfail area having an encounter with a group of little people out in the scrub.
apparently he was pig hunting and his dogs ran into the rainforest chasing a pig so he went in after them and killed the pig with his knife and wateva. then he started to drag the pig back to his ute but wen he turned around there was a small group of little aboriginal looking people staring at him. he didnt really now wat to do so he just pushed the pig towards them and ran.
i have heard a few stories about pygmy tribes was wondering if any one has heard of any that i havnt.
cheers

Hey mad_keen Welcome to the forums
Have you any other information on the little people. Were they adults but small or just children?
I am guessing that because they looked aboriginal they weren’t hairy?

thanx
no they were adults and naked. just looked like tiny aboriginals, not hairy.
ive reasearched it online it seems that this area is well known for the "lost pygmy tribe". it really wouldnt surprise me if there was a lsot tribe. it is so hard to get through the rainforest. it once took us around 4 hours to get about 100metres into the forest because it is full of wait-a-while (prickly vine thing)

Hey mad_keen
Do you know where abouts this happened in the Innisfail area? Sounds intriguing.

umm im not really that sure. i think it was around the parmeston/misty mountain area.
i know the last well known sighting of them was when they were building the tully range. which is about 30 or so minutes from innisfail. they said that the guy on the bulldozer making the track would see them running in front of him and one morning saw them around his bulldozer and took a photo which was said to be published by the local news paper. this was back around 1980 or something but as far as i know theres only ever been one paper and thats the tully times but i cant find anything about this story on the internet. might hav to hit up the library local library..

Nah Tops, you're not the only one... I've seen you touch on it a few times so i know you're pretty keen on the idea... and i agree completely. I'm not saying they are neccessarily still hiding in the bushes up there now, but i believe it to be quite probable that they were at some stage... If i was Prof. Mororwood i would definately be spending a bit of time in the region.. Would love to poke my nose around FNQ at some stage in the future... (road trip Tim?)...
Cheers,
Dan.
