I am a believer.

Hey guys and gals. I used to live at the rear of the woodford folk festival, In a little shack backing on to Bellthorpe ranges at the back of a dairy farm. I regularly used to ride sandy creek to kilcoy or connondale through the forestry and have been deep in the bush with a personal epirb. I have had one experience that may be of interest.

I had stopped for a break and noticed a urine type smell as I took my helmet off. I then had a definite feeling of being watched as i sat on a log. Having spent plenty of time in the bush alone this was not just paranoia. Anyway I was freaked enough to get on my bike and go. And be glad that I was gone. I now live in Morayfield and am a true believer that the yowie lives up in them ranges. It is so thick in spots they would never be found. Pic is of back yard and trail.

Hey Ibelieve, welcome to the forums.

Thanks for sharing your story, that feeling of being watched is all too common with Yowie reports. Heavily forested and isolated, sitting along a creek bed, strong urine like smell, you may have been right to presume it was Yowie.

You say you used to ride sandy creek to kilcoy or connondale through the forestry. Is this the same area that you had the experience?

Yes it was near a creek I used to stop at for a ciggy. Between Bellthorpe and Connondale. You often see deer and Monitor lizards. But this was an erie type feeling that I was being watched by something or someone. I trust my gut instincts. I'm not saying it was, For all I know it could have been crop sitters. But if there are yowies, they could most definitely go unharmed up in that national park area. My son is very interested in them, since we stopped at the statue in Kilcoy a little while ago. Which is what made me think about it again and look up these forums. Having a 4wd, I will take him up one of these days.
