Pheromone Tablets

Thanks Andrew for the pheromone tablets. They were a little late because it was addressed to NSW instead of Qld - close, but no cigar!

The Post Office wanted them out ASAP.

My Brother collected them, had all the windows down, driving twice the speed limit, running red lights, and by the time he arrived back at work, he wanted them out ASAP(!) - he was disgusted and his car smelt like a Brothel....

I then put them in a draw somewhere out in our Warehouse, and one of our employees found them and thought I was playing a joke on them, and had them out ASAP. He put them outside under a sheet of tin.

I rescued them and sprinted them 25m back to the draw and have now washed my hands 4 times with dish washing liquid and they still stink. All this from an unopened bag. Pewwwww...... They REEK! My clothes smell from just being near them. Your description of how they smell is right on the money - I think I have met her too.

We're heading out to Kilcoy again soon, so will have to find something stink proof to put them in, otherwise I will be forced to sell my car after the trip.

That`s commitment Dean

It`ll be interesting to see what type of response you get from your friend this time. Keep us posted on how you go.

They truly and seriously smell Scott. Sealed in a Post Pack, in a desk draw and all the fumes have now drifted into the toilets and surrounding areas (and yes, it IS the Pheromone Tablets!). Foul odour. Come Monday, I think I will have some serious complaints, however, complaints are better than stinking up my apartment. Gosh knows what the Post Office people went through! More than likely all looking at each other with suspicious eyes.

Sure, sure Dean... whatever you say (jest)

I can see them accidentally making their way into someones sleeping bag

They sound nasty.... I`m extremely curious as to the reaction (or not) you`ll get out in the field???

Oh crikey, Dean, you sure need to be awarded a medal for going above and beyond all reasonable expectations, by the sound of things.....

Just a thought: while the 'odour' of these things is still strong, might you consider dropping some absorbent towelling or something around the postpack (which can be used later to place in a tree or under a rock cairn or something on your next expedition) to soak up some of the smell? Also, perhaps sticking them in another plastic bag containing (and I'm not kidding) a couple of OdourEaters shoe insoles - get the ones with activated charcoal if possible - and this should also reduce the amount of odour getting out. I'd also consider multiple ziploc bags around the whole shebang before considering storing them in your car! Do you have a freezer? Maybe you could store them in there in the multiple bags - the heat of our summer is probably also contributing to the amount of smell that is coming out of them. Keeping them as cool as possible might also preserve the 'smellability' a bit longer. Any of your mates have a freezer specially for storing dog food or fishing bait?

I hope these things draw something in on the next expedition - please get a cam going facing where you hang one of these things! :)

Kind regards,
Shazz

To be perfectly honest i half expected customs to knock on my door for importing strange objects into the country or something, but they didn't, the rest of my collection of Pheremone discs have been relegated to the shed and are not allowed inside the house...i am looking foward to deploying them in conjuction with a camping trip.
ps: I spoke with a zoologist aquantaince about the pheremone thing, he said that in wet or moist weather the pheremone particle in the air would tend to NOT travel as far as when in dry warm air

I'm running out of places to keep them. Every time I hide them, for some reason they are found and disgruntley returned?

They reek, and once you touch the bag, you can't wash the smell off your skin.
