Thats exactly the same as the tree i found in the Wollomi. I posted the pics a wayz back
the time of the big fires when most of the bush was devistaded and the gardens of stone and Newnes state forest was left untouched. Feel free to look them up.

It is interesting to note how whatever has been accessing the black wattle tree to gain a food source more than likely wichidi grubs , has been careful to not ringbark the tree in the process , I susspect that the tree over time would repair itself leaving behind a nice little soft path of new growth that the next grub would like to feed on .
Is this an example of the intelligents of the Yowie ? , it is not unlike the practise of fire stick farming in order to maintain a food source for future purposes whilst at the same time making the future gavering easier and less physically demanding . Iam confounded by the inability of skeptics to accept what would seem to be excellent evidence , just let them write that one off as the work of a cranky possum .
