Just one of the many interesting emails we receive. Coonabarabran has a long steep History, as we all know.

Hi Dean,
Regarding our conversation about Coonabarabran sightings and incidents:
Today we visited Pauline and Pat (my Husbands Grandperants), as they where staying in nearby Gulgong.
Here is just some of what they had to say:
The most recent unexplained incident happened last december 2009 when my family went to visit for the day. My 2 year old was banging rocks together in the garden approx for 3 hours. Pauline reported that a few days later she was woken in the middle of the night by the same type of noise as if rocks were being struck together in the bush to the side of the house.
Pauline was hanging washing on line and several rocks were thrown in her direction landing near her feet.from the bush approx 25-30 metres away on two or the 3 ocassions with Paul or her Daughter Sharon.
Another occurance while at the washing line she had the feeling of being watched but on this occasion felt fear and ran back in. Looking over kitchen sink, through her window she spotted something approx 7 ft tall watching her from scrubby paddock whick ajoins the bush. She went out onto verandah for closer look and noticed it was holding a small tree her description was brown hairy about 3 ft wide at shoulders.
Paul photographed many tree bites /scrapes pyramid shapes of sticks footprints etc which i shall copy and forward to you. He reported smelling a burnt sulphur rotten egg smell on many walks in the Pilliga and also found roos with top half of body missing.
On one walk he reported after the incident to his mother, he was on the 700 acre block next door walking when he heard sticks snapping behind him, he increased his pace but the pace was matched approx 15-20 metres behind. He began to run as he got close to the road, and it sounded like a train coming at him closer. As he got onto the road, the pursuit ended but he still ran all the way home. Apparantly he had never felt in danger until this incident.
Sharon (Pat and Paulines Daughter), was staying at her parents place with a friend and walked along the dirt road spotted tracks. Her shoe size is 7 1/2', and she could fit both feet in the tracks which had stride of at least 2 metres.
All their previous reports were given to national parks and wildlife.
if you would like to contact pat and pauline they would be more than happy to speak to you, as they also have other stories to tell.
