Skinwalker Ranch Australia
Nice find there Dean! Thanks. I met Saab in town, might skip the bit about the area other than Northern NSW...and found we were wearing matching combat cammo pants...next time we must talk about you trying to emulate my clothing sense!
After a few mishaps to find the farm which were due to every direction given was actually wrong we arrived and met the family.
Really nice people.
The wife articulated most of the shared experiences but for the life of me, I could not get her to speak on or off camera just for the audio..she would go, "well, thats all I have seen"..then awhile later would come out with another classic story..They often ended with "And we ran back to the house and locked the door".
To cut to the chase, footprints have been found, casts made, roar/shrieks heard, stomping sounds, footsteps following people that became louder and louder..in daylight..stick tapping sounds...a granddaughter tapped some rocks together for fun..a while later..rock tapping sounds started in the forest...farmers feel like they are been watched, campers have had their tents shaken and pegs pulled out..next door had lone camper who ran into this family's farm white and shaking...claimed to have seen ape-like things up close to his fire...
Going back soon to record the photos on film....
Would also like to say that most of the photos/casts etc were collected by the family's son Paul, a great researcher who is now sadly deceased...the tree ring marks were about 3 metres high at the lowest point and were not caused by some form of vine..they were on numerous other trees...the bones...are supposedly in caves in the back of the property and are presented here as Paul found them..
Paul.. did a great job and had the $#@#$%$# scared out of him on numerous adventures.
It's great that some of his research is now known.
R.I.P...Paul...

Are we talking like Skinwalker Ranch in the states kinda thing? If so.. that is awesome. Is it possible to divulge in any more information as to the location of this place or, like the one in the states, quiet?

Sounds like an intriguing spot.
Those marks on the tree look interesting and high up as from what I can tell.

No..there is no point..the family are very quiet about the weird stuff on and around their property.
And it was the first time in ages that someone would not even let me record their voice..damn..
Your dead right...and he did alot of his research alone..which in itself..at that location is fairly ...gutsy..That Paul guy seems like a total champion.. it is sad someone as enthusiastic as him is gone. RIP.
The tree rings marks do look interesting Chewy...if humans did not carry long ladders into remote parts of the forest..to use tools on the tree..then it is indeed odd..anyone else know of similar marks on trees..not by vines of course..

That's some freaky stuff! I've never seen anything like those tree markings before, the footprints remind me of Jerry's, and as for those bones..... Skinwalker ranch Australia appears to be entirely appropriate! Some more paid actors and actresses who refrain from being interviewed - I think not!

Hey Sab & Mike
Well done thats what I am talking about !
Whats happening with the marks / scartchings on the trees , they appear to be recently applied so that blows the skeptical vine theory . did they go around the full circumfurance of the tree or were they only on the visible face as per the footage ? did you guys get a sample of the bones for scientific / DNA testing purposes , it would be great to know the outcome of any such investigation . WOW this is so KOOL , " with great effort comes great reward " . this is truly inspirational .

Re: Skinwalker Ranch Australia
Hey Al

We were rained out when we went there and had to video from the photos..we are hoping to be shown the trees to look at them close up..the area is fairly wild..the area we wish to concentrate on is about 800 acres and the owners mentioned the ease of getting lost in the featureless scrub..eecck.
After another chat with the family..the caves with the bones are abit further than we expected..maybe another time..and its not like someone is pointing saying "go to that hill and turn right"..its a bit more vague due to time factors...than my initial discussion implied..which may have been more due to my own excitement..
If someone did find the caves one day..then ..I think its a bit dodgy to fiddle around with anything if it is some form of sacred site..
And I dont just mean leaving the site on just archeological grounds..if you get my drift..
Most times we find a great spot..we go in going 'this is going to be wild.."..people go "what happened."..we go .."err..nothing".
And the whole thing is forgotten..
I think going to this sort of spot which appears to be historically rich with wacky stuff..and I dont just mean this farm..I mean the whole district....is our best bet of been exposed to something really profound to happen..one day...
I am getting tired of iv witnesses to the phenomena..I want to experience it..
I just want to skip the possible mental trauma bit....
If nothing happens after 10 ? visits..then...well..I might start up another hobby...
Until the next hot spot...until the next great witness turns up...
Mike

see above..and..that might be a nightmare to find according to a recent conversation..if i was trying to rationalise it..I would suggest koori sacred sites...which would ignore supposedly fresh roos chopped in half in another part of the cave system..that was anecdotal with no photos.did you guys get a sample of the bones for scientific / DNA testing purposes

Hey Doc
I mentioned in another thread that a friend was scared out of the Platypus flat area nsw whilst camping on an animal research trip , I did not mention in that account that he told me at the time of the encounter the Yowie seemend to become enraged only after he and his work buddy played Metalica loudly to drown out the creepy sounds that were eminating from the surrounding bush .
I did not think to much of it at the time of his recolection but with your past post it leaves me to wonder . A young couple that I know reported to me that whilst camping at Mulligans hut nsw the noises in the bush at night appeared to respond to the intermittant crying of their then new baby .
With further research perhaps your thoughts will be corroborated though I am sure that many would say that they are already real enough . I have no view on the extra sensory ability of the Yowie / Bigfoot , although I feel that the extraterestial angle warrants further investigation , at least in the Burogarrang valey a quantifiable chain of events appear to be linked .

I was exploring the links last night and came accross one of Rexy's nuggets , main era 1971 is of reports made to him by others of underground UFO bases in that Valley , he seems to feel that the Yowie / Ufo events are connected , as I am new to this kind of research I will remain reserved but I will unlike a former prime minister

Hell yes, know exactly what you mean as there have been cases where tourist from around the world were sending back objects (that were collected from sacred sites) with apology letters due to bouts of bad luck. Had a beer with a Kiwi work college who said if you are in a cave in and you see a piece of jade; do not touch it unless you seek permission. She was very matter of fact about it too.If someone did find the caves one day..then ..I think its a bit dodgy to fiddle around with anything if it is some form of sacred site.. Re: Skinwalker Ranch Australia
Agghh finally got a chance to get on here. Wow... Awesome trip is all I can say really! I have never heard of an Australian case involving such a wide variety of paranormal activity in a given area. Amazing

As far as I am aware the bones/skeletons contained within these caves seemed to be from animal kills as opposed to a suspected Yowie. Hence, a DNA study would be pointless. It is hard to say for certain who or what has been using these cave systems but there is a significant aboriginal history in the surrounding area. I guess some of the more interesting claims we encountered involving animal carcasses/skeletons concerned their unusual nature which indicated that in some cases the animals (usually kangaroos) had been literally ripped in half!!! One thing I know for sure after travelling around the area is that there are many, many caves in remote parts of this location (many of which have probably been unexplored)!did you guys get a sample of the bones for scientific / DNA testing purposes
Al, some researchers in the US have definitely linked UFOs and Bigfoot activity although there seems to be fewer accounts in Australia. However, I feel you should tread with caution in regards to certain researchers claims. I respect Rex greatly for the pioneering work he has done in the field and feel that every now and then he puts out a quality nugget or two but I definitely don`t subscribe to many of his findings/beliefs. But each to their own I suppose.I was exploring the links last night and came accross one of Rexy's nuggets , main era 1971 is of reports made to him by others of underground UFO bases in that Valley , he seems to feel that the Yowie / Ufo events are connected , as I am new to this kind of research I will remain reserved but I will unlike a former prime minister

I dunno about this one Doc. I think its a bit risky. I can tell you for certain that if I heard Celine Dion playing in my home let alone out in the bush I`d be considering ripping the head off the person/s responsible! They like slow romantic music, particularly slow female vocalist

Mike that`ll probably involve sleeping out there with wild, feral creatures.... only something a real man is capable of (cough, cough)I am getting tired of iv witnesses to the phenomena..I want to experience it..

Yes SAB I concur we should respect the REX he is after all a founder of this type of research in this country anyway , he has remained steadfast in his pursuit of the required evidence to prove the existance of the Yowie and for that matter a good many other strange phenomena , the mind boggles at the thought of some of his suggestions it all keps me very interested at least , if only just 1/5 of it were proven the world we live in would be changed forever .
You know at the end of month I might invite the Yowies to sit and watch the TITANIC on my portable dvd player with me I'll just bet they'd love the sountrack .

I guess at the end of the day its going to be extremely difficult to prove it outright, but you can obtain a lot of second-hand evidence and present it on the net - which can add support to a witness or researchers claims. This Australian Skinwalker case is a classic example - over the years they have documented a wealth of material which adds more authenticity to their claims. I`m certain I would not have been as impressed with this case had they not made the efforts to document it. Verbal accounts of sightings or interactions can only take you so far!I am always interested in hearing how one would go about proving anything over the internet.
Yer not sure if I totally agree with that one Doc. In fact sometimes them knowing that you are aware of its presence seems to encourage their interaction. There have been cases in Oz where researchers/enthusiasts have had nightly interactions in the form of cat and mouse games and such. Also if you have a look at some of the trip reports on this site than they have reported good success with a number of pre-planned trips. I am certain that these animals are extremely, extremely curious in regards to humans and our activities - whether thats playing music, interacting with each other, setting up a campsite, cooking food etc etc. That being the case just being in an area of known activity with an open mind and a sharp sense of awareness can be enough to bring about an interaction. You may not need to go to the lengths of holding a rock concert but if thats what seems to work for you than fair enough. If you haven't been there before, your chances may be better of them not
knowing what you are up to. If I plan out something in advance, it always fails.

Sab...were there wild feral creatures in the public camping ground on Saturday night when you camped..instead of in the forest..

Okay..I admit I would not have been too excited to do it either by myself in the forest..
And regarding Rex..he is interested in many things..but he does not and has never related yowie type stuff with anything paranormal..or weird like ufo`s..he just writes about many things..

Those tree markings , do you think they are wood grub tunnels that have had the bark stripped back so as something could get at the grubs in the process of gathering food ?

Re: Skinwalker Ranch Australia
This strange spiral pattern reminds me of what I imagine might happen if the constrictive vine that caused it dies leaving just a scar... I had a hunt on Google and came up with these interesting links:
Vine damage to trees (my most likely cause)
http://www.jstor.org/pss/2420320
Lightning damage in a spiral pattern: Figure 5.3 (bit of a stretch - struck trees often die)
http://tinyurl.com/yzdv29f
http://www.burkesbackyard.com.au/factsh ... ck-Gum/807
But there seems to be more than one of these trees with the spiral pattern on them.... are there any trees with creepers/vines growing up them which could be investigated to see if they leave a scar on the tree?

Hi - Ya Shazzoir
The trees in the background of the video appear to be cyprus pine not normally the type of country in which vines would grow to such an extent on the trunks of trees , there are some native misstletoes that grow in these semi arid areas but even they usually assimilate the leaf structure at the end of the branches . Not knowing the area in which the video was shot I am probably barking up the ! [ no I can't do it ] .

Re: Skinwalker Ranch Australia
So far... we are relying on the observations and beliefs of the family and some of their photos.
Could the marks turn out to be just vine damage..borers etc..sure..
That is why we are hoping to find these trees...
The family told us they had shown the national parks staff photos of these trees.
The NP staff said ......"humans with ladders".
The great thing about a forum like this is that everything can and will be questioned..
I am still running with borers and vines placed on the tree by giant hairy men...any support for this..?

Mike even an abnormally tall YOWIE would have to firstly climb and hang on to the trunk of the tree whilst excavating the grubs from beneath the bark , a great feat on any account ... hope you guys head back there soon and get to the bottom of these issues it is extremly interesting .

Re: Skinwalker Ranch Australia
I second that, Al! A return trip to that area should include a quick cup of tea with the local national parks and wildlife people to ascertain black cockatoo numbers, woodpecker numbers, and any local looney tunes with a penchant for climbing trees and marking them with grooves.
Hopefully the tree can be found and a count completed of any trees in that area which have markings. A GPS would certainly make it interesting, particularly if the marked trees coincide with any star constellations. Trees marked by humans, are usually for later felling. If a tree is marked, it is marked for a reason.
A lazy cynic would conveniently overlook the fact the grooves are unlike apache indian totem markings in the way they are haphazard, yet a pattern is present just the same! The rest of the tree body is unmarked, leading to the question of how could a human create it without aid from a firebrigade ladder or cherry picker? Anybody who's ever attempted wood chopping knows how difficult it is even when standing on a board, to get the cuts right.
Very, very interesting, and those footprints are great!!
Doc - I appreciate what you're saying about these creatures in your experience having seemingly telepathic and fortune telling abilities. However, it seems to me you were only researching a particular area. If you're researching only one area, you're only going to discover traits of that one group. Just as the American Indians had their own tribes and the Australian Aboriginal people had their own tribes, I see no reason why this may not also be true for the yowie. Different tribes means different abilities have been cultivated and enhanced in each. Therefore, I wouldn't be so quick to automatically assume each and every tribe of Yowies has exceptional telepathic and fortune telling abilities. There may be a group of them that haven't evolved to that stage! This area may house such a group. Only one way to find out - put your balls and bones on the line and spend time there.
All the tin foil hats and helmets in the world are worthless anyway even if all of these creatures are as you paint them all to be, Doc! Lucky you for finding a futurama telepathic group! I hope they helped you out with the lottery numbers once or twice!

Thats a good idea Steve I would be very interested to hear their opinion and their thoughts on the activity occurring in the area.I second that, Al! A return trip to that area should include a quick cup of tea with the local national parks and wildlife people to ascertain black cockatoo numbers, woodpecker numbers, and any local looney tunes with a penchant for climbing trees and marking them with grooves.
Just in regard to this tree it must be noted that it was the only tree that had been marked. If there was logging going on then there is a high chance that more trees would have been similarly marked in the area.Trees marked by humans, are usually for later felling. If a tree is marked, it is marked for a reason.
Also this tree was apparently in a very isolated area and it was by mere chance that it was even discovered. That in itself reduces the likelihood that its was purposely hoaxed by someone with a ladder. I`m also not a fan of the vine theory. I did not see any trees with vines on them while I was at the location.... nor have I seen any photos which would indicate that trees wih vines frequent the area... I`m not saying that there isn`t any there full stop.... I`m just saying I haven`t seen trees with vines around them in that area.
Rules of debunking
Any conventional explanation is better than none.
Don`t bother me with the facts my mind is made up.
If one can`t attack the data, attack the people, it is easier!
Do one`s research by proclamation; investigation is too much trouble.

Now your talking DOC this is a viable scenario , good to see you have not lost your sense of humour .Or the scars could mark a cornerstone marker of a Yowie families property. When roads, rivers and mountain ridges are not readily available as natural boundary markers, perhaps they were compelled to "McGiver" in a corner marker, when otherwise lacking the appropriate steel peg and hammer to drive them into place.
MY FINAL DECISION IS MAYBE .........
IF YOU DO NOT LOOK YOU WILL NOT SEE

Re: Skinwalker Ranch Australia
A Yowie "MacGuyver-ing" up its own marker.. I admit, I laughed due to the phrase used.. but that seems the most viable option i'm willing to go with right now.
I went for a walk today & saw some big trees with vines around them (looked like the trees in the video), peeled off a vine and it made no markings like that at all.. more like a feint outline of where the vine was sticking to.. then the vine stuck to me as well and i got tangled in the stuff. Then fell over a log behind me. I'm awesome like that.
These are just personal observations.. i'm not sure what type of vines are in that area, or what type of trees either; i'm just going from a little experiment I conducted myself as to see if it were possible for vines to make that kind of marking.
How deep were the scars on the tree itself, would you say?

..people don't tend to notice him standing there in the last frames..
