Olympic Mascot Could Cost Canada Medals

Friday, February 12, 2010 17:08 GMT
CANBERRA, Australia (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The oafish mascot chosen for the Vancouver Winter Olympics could cost Canadians a few gold medals.

Today (Feb. 12) the games will introduce “Quatchi,” a large, simple-minded mascot modeled after Canada’s famed Sasquatch.

According to cryptoid researcher Tim The Yowie Man – who once spotted the Australian bigfoot, Yowie, in his yard – Quatchi is all wrong for the Olympics.

Of all the hairy beasts in the world, Tim says Sasquatch is by far the clumsiest, slowest, and least agile.

The cumbersome creature is certainly not an athlete and looks “ridiculous” representing the Olympics.

Tim believes Canadian Olympians will be teased mercilessly by opponents for their “dopey” mascot, which will affect their performance and cost them gold medals in sports they’re usually good at.

This may give other countries a chance to win.

Tim says lake monsters, sea serpents, Yowie, or even the U.S. Bigfoot would’ve been better choices for mascots because they’re all known to be speedy.

Bahahaha i am sure the sasquatch is not that clumsy, Why haven't we seen its clumsy self down town?

How different is it compared to a Yowie or Big Foot?

This is insane!

By the small gesture of this government body using this symbol as a national team emblem , it could be perceived as a step towards having the idea of an unauthenticated species excepted by the wider public without causing public unrest .

There is countless cases of Governments all over the world conducting their leadership in this fashion and putting the greater public on a drip feed of misinformation , dumbing down what surely is a major revelation by depicting the Hominid as a dumb , harmless creature almost to the point of being cute and hopeing the general populus will take this version to their hearts .

High mountain spectators beware though , do not wonder to far off the course and find yourself in the back country , their are emblems in them dare hills .

MY FINAL DECISION IS MAYBE ...............

Tye, the Sasquatch and the Bigfoot in North America are one and the same--just different names for it. (taz)

(eek) I love the expert opinion from Tim the Yowie Man (c**p)

In all seriousness though - why is the media even interested in this guy? That is a bigger mystery to me than the Bigfoot/Yowie/UFO/ghost phenomenon combined!!! (confused)

Exactly there is ZERO difference, the Sasquatch and Bigfoot are the same creature..

What the f#ck is Tim the "Yowie man" on about?? if anything the Sasquatch should be considered Super human! easily besting man in strength, speed and agility, what an idiotic statement..

Cant say I would enjoy seeing them in leotards though.. figure skating.. no thanks

On another note my brother sent me a Quatchi mascot plush toy last year when he was living in Vancouver, and i can confirm he is awesome, sitting on my desk right now go Quatchi!!

Hey Tye, nevertheless, I'm sure there are regional differences, both physical and behavioral, between the Bigfoot/Sasquatch and the Yowie. You'll have to get further info from a professional researcher, though! I'm just now learning about the Yowie on AYR, and they do seem to be a little bolder in their behavior. I think that could be on account of the fact that Australians are not trying to kill every Yowie they see..... (2guns)

ROTFL @ Topender! That's hilarious! (claps hands) (taz) (woot)
