Managed to snap a few pics of these big cats in the City today - location was adjacent to the river and the city botanical gardens...

Wow, I had no idea there were cat gargoyles anywhere, though these cannot really be classified as gargoyles because they're not grotesque or bizarre in any way. Thanx for posting these! I had no idea that such sculptures existed. Certainly not in the USA that I've ever seen or heard about. Any idea why cats would be chosen for these sculptures on buildings?

Many odd gargoyle - sculptures around Brisbane's inner city. Though much more modern, most commuters waiting for a bus on Adelaide St have never noticed the native animals worked into the streetlights.
The builder of the "George St Mansions" was a GHM Addison, there is quite a bit of google-bait about him and his achievements. He designed many early buildings in Brisbane City, of which a fair number survive to the present day.

I hate to be all nitty-gritty here on the subject, but they're actually called "Grotesques" - Gargoyles always have a spout for water to come out of.
