Oh, Jesus Christ of Texas, this is just another example of the culture of denial. That ole boy, Professor Turtle (fitting name, he's not the fastest car in the race!) seems to be desperately reaching to explain away all BF sightings globally, without even examining any actual circumstantial evidence by interviewing witnesses at the very least, along with visiting, say, Dr. Bindernagel or some other good researcher and examining track casts and going out in the field to look at tree structures.
What a useless comparison--flashing drawings of obvious ducks, one after another, on a screen for a second at most, then an upside-down drawing of a rabbit that's made to look like a duck until you turn it rightside up! Great balls of fire, he needs to go back to school and learn to practice science if he wants of be a scientist, even in the nebulous field of human behavioral science. Then he essentially says that those who insist they've seen a Sasquatch anyway have something wrong with their minds--i.e., their brains are just not processing visual information correctly. What a jerk! This was about the closest I ever came to punching my screen with my fist.
Good for Dr. Bindernagel. I follow his work periodically and I am definitely a fan of his. He knows how to be reasonable.

I thoroughly enjoyed that clip! It's refreshing to at least have some studies into the phenomena by addressing the witnesses themselves where they are not calling them liars and hoaxers. An important point raised is most witnesses do not want their names disclosed, meaning they are not attention seekers and therefore have no motive to be lying, contrary to popular belief!

Yes, Dr. Bindernagel approaches withnesses the right way, and the fact that they don't want their names known publicly proves they are not seeking attention, therefore making them even more credible.

If eyewitness testimony is so unreliable as Mr. Turtle suggests than perhaps legal systems throughout the world should be reviewed. Eyewitness testimony is a major component of the legal system!!! Turtle-man is just another clone know-it-all who can tidy up anything paranormal with a conventional scientific explanation. It seems the the thousands upon thousands of Bigfoot witnesses are in reality silly people of questionable intelligence who have mistaken bigfoots for conventional phenomena. I`m guessing he`s spent zero time out in the field and probably hasn`t even sat down and had a face to face interview with a single witness. I think we can add another armchair expert with no idea to the collection!

Ella,
I agree, Mr. Turtle's demonstration is pathetic. It's a demonstration in conditioning if anything, where the eye and brain is so used to processing the duck image, the ambiguous image he then posts (which looks like a duck at first glance) is automatically processed as a duck rather than a super close-up of a rabbit's head. What an utterly ridiculous demonstration!!!! Applied to the bigfoot or yowie sightings, that demonstration has zero bearing, because the witnesses in most cases have never seen a bigfoot/yowie before, and are not thinking of such things. So how is it they are seeing what they want to see through conditioning? Turtle by name, and turtle by nature it seems - slow and encased in a shell.
I agree Sab, Turtle doesn't even suggest what conventional phenomena, people could be mistaking as bigfoot/yowie. That's because there is no conventional phenomena for seven foot tall plus hairy wild people.
I do like Doctor Bingerningel though!
