I went out to the big area today, I saw seed pods and they were open like something has been feeding on them in one spot, with a couple of bones. Trees have been pushed over recently too. So I started to walk down this valley and crunch crunch crunch was coming down the side of the mountain. It was making a noise like and old man grunting as he gets off the lounge. I had the whole lot on tape but went to rewind it in my video cam and it chewed the god damn tape...Brand new tape not using fujifilm DV60 every again. I stick to using TDK tapes..I am so majorally peaved off. Need to get a new tape before exploring again. sorry fellow yowie researches.

Is it possible to go back to where you heard the grunting and look for possible footprints?
Good luck with it all.
PS: hope the missus doesn't get to bored sitting in the car all day.

hey mate, i watched your videos on youtube, good work!
Not sure how much it costs, but there are places that can fix video tapes etc if they are in good enough condition, might be worth it?

It looks pretty bad . The tape has snapped and is chewed for about 50 cm.
The wife is bugging me to drop the kids some where so we can go again (she's got the bug) . After she heard wood knocking and she saw a dark blur about 5ft run across the road really fast . I told her that more people see dark yowie then gray one's and some one took a pic of one about 120km away in 2008.
P.S If you have a canon mv500i don't use fujifilm dvm60 tapes they don't seem to handle stop starting etc it chews the tape when rewinding.
Don't have this problem with TDK tapes or Canon Tapes.

I'm looking to get a Sony HD cam. My dad has one and he says its the best camera he's ever got. It even has facial/body recognition, so if you've captured a video before with friends or whatever, it "saves" their faces/body into its internal memory, so the next time you film with said friends, it brings out their faces/body clearer. It also records in Dolby DTS - so the sound is perfect. Basically, what you hear with your own ears is whats recorded without any loss in the conversion from the audio to the internal HDD it has.
I've played around with it a few times and its well worth the buy. Especially if you're going to be using it for this kind of thing.

So you've had a sighting! I have never had a BF sighting, but have friends who have had a good number of them. What did your Yowie look like, what color, etc.?
