Well everyone after watching nat geo 360 I feel very disapointed again with these type of programs, all theory and lab work and very little if any field work ( there's an hour of my life I'll never get back). When the hell are they going to make a doco that involves some long term covert field work, they've done it with just about every animal on the planet about time they done it for Bigfoot, yowie etc. (taz)

I was at Sydney paranormal conference back in the 1990s and there was a “Blue Mountain’s Yowie Researcher.” Cannot recall my exact question to him but it was something along the lines of conducting serious field research like collecting hair samples at a sighting location and finding tracks, tree breaks etc.

His response was; we should leave them alone. This was after his 50 minute lecture trying to prove their existence to the audience. He did not seem interested in conducting any type of field research at all, and kept on referring to his book that he was trying to sell.

I tried to reason with him and say that I am all for projection of a new species of animal if that’s what he was worried about. However, if there is a large, powerful creature roaming the bush than the potential of someone being attacked is high.

I am fairly sure that I mentioned this in a previous thread but I think that if a gruop of dedicted people had the where with all to produce a show about Yowies and more to the point Yowie research than maybe it could be put to air on pay tv via the Aurora channel you may or may not be aware but some of their programming is based upon content such as weddings , four wheel drives and of course fishing , so why not Yowies .

To further the argument for the need for this type of show it could be seen as equal to one of the many Ghost hunter type programmes that are about and who wants to watch another Lion eating a spring bock any way .

The talent required as a presenter for the channel mentioned is obviously not on the Burt Newton level eg : My Four By Four . but would require an individual with a certain amount of stage presence , deffinitely not me as I have a head that is best suited to radio , hey there's another form of media that could be covered , surely amongst all of our AYR posters there would be at least one character with the necessary attributes to carry this off . ????????? . (eek)

I AM NOT LOST I AM WHERE I WANT TO BE ............
