UFO NEWSPAPER ARCHIVES PROJECT

Hi all, I have recently spent some time at the local historical society in Kempsey looking for old articles of interest and I was shocked at how many unknown UFO (and various other paranormal) reports were in the archives. It made me wonder how many other little towns have a rich history of paranomal material throughout their historical records. To my knowledge many of these reports have not been included in mainstream articles or books. I encourage anyone out there to take the time and go and search through their local newspaper archives.... it can be a lengthy process at times but stumbling upon a relatively unknown report can be orgasmically exicting (well... for me anyway)! A little tip: Try and find a more popular report and search the next month or so. On a lot of occasions one persons sighting or report will cause other locals to write into the newspaper in question detailing their experiences and/or knowledge.

Also, if anyone is sitting on old newspaper reports or even if you are aware of dates of certain articles then please upload or type them up and put them onto this topic. I`ll put an article on every now and then to keep this topic going. Thanks.

...Well I may as well put a bit in on this section of the forum.... :)

Toowoomba, late '70's early '80's.....

There will be a write up about five disc shaped UFO's in V formation flying west to east across the centre of the CBD, then out over Mount Lofty (east) to who knows where....

A friend of mine witnessed the event (along with every man and his dog apparently), he was an Engineman for QR, working near Toowoomba station on the yard shunt.

He heard the shunters and yard staff gibbering on the two-ways, went out onto the footplate to talk to the shunter, the shunter indicated the objects, my mate watched them go overhead and head out over Lofty...

Toowoomba Chronicle is the paper you will need to contact about it :)
