Hey everyone ,
I normaly post my recording's from the bush in the yowie section of the board , but I dont believe these recordings belong there . This has got to be the strangest unnatural sounds I ever recorded from the bush . They all appear in a 2 minute period of a three hour (noise activated ) recording . In the recording's , it's raining and it's just on dark . Just remember , this is in the middle of nowhere .

I've dropped the high frequencies (rain) out of the mix for a clearer interpretation .

You be the judge .

Yeah that's it . It's not a plane , I've recorded those before and they have a distinct long drone about them . this thing is in close proximity to the recorder . The only thing that I can compare it to is luke skywalkers light saber , you know , it sounds mechanical .

Rusty, that sounds quite strange! Sort of like a sound of enquiry, or subvocalisation, kind of like a "hmmmmm... now that's interesting' sort of thing that humans do. Whatever it is, it is really bass-y, so unlikely to be an insect.... almost reminds me of an emu booming...but only doing one 'boom'

Hey Shazzoir ,
God only know's what it is or what it could be mate . I'm with ya on the subvocalisation theory , it very well could be , the australian bush certainly has some unusual sounds in it , but it sound's mechanical to me . Have you got headphones , the sound in "dunno 1" is modulating . I've reprocessed it , (dunno 1) , dropping out all the frequencies except for 56hertz , I wonder if this frequency ring's a bell for anyone with a musical background . I guess if we knew what it was Shazzoir , we'd have nothing to talk about . lol

Similar sounds explained as possible slow wind/air movement? Clutching at straws, but just putting it out there for a similar sound, though the one in the article is a continuous humming, whereas your sample seems to have a definite start and finish, as well as my puny human ears can determine, anyway!

Yeah that humming would be enough to drive anyone crazy . I did hear somewhere that the solar system is a choir and the sun is the lead singer . The sun put's out it's frequency and the planets vibrate in response . We as human's apparently also vibrate at a certain frequency . The normal operating frequency for a human is 62-68 hertz . Maybe it has something to do with this or an underground geological formation as the article was suggesting or both . Maybe there's caves or ancient lava tubes underground nearby .

Wow! Amazing audio.... I`m sure I have heard a similar noise which was claimed to be from a UFO sighting.... although I forget which particular one. Might be on the net... not sure though?

I sent it to a friend (yes I do have friends ,lol ) on the gold coast and the first thing he said was " have you ever had a cat scan " . He reckons it sound similar to the machine they use . I've never had a cat scan so I dont know . My recorder only lasts for 2 days and one night . God knows what else I'm missing . I'm going to use lithium batteries from now on .
