Seriously , that piece of footage is making me nervous . Can you imagine that magnificent creature walking up to you in the bush ? If you ran you'd be dead . So what do you do ?

Rusty;

Deep breath M8 !! (lol) Of all the creatures in our big world great and small, I would feel more comfy having a silverback walk up to me than some of the ones here abouts that slither and slide. Yeah, I know it's bias, but havin a cold beady eye from a snake that looks hungry puts the scare up me a lot faster (scared) (lol)

I just wonder about all those class hours where students (some of us included) were told that the only walking primate is man... Oh, I also heard that Ambam's father also walked in a biped manner when he felt the need. Like when carrying food in both hands (is this a mental choice?).

From the North American folks, we hear of hairy friends going in what they describe as 4x4 mode for extreme speed... and climbing trees. I'm wondering if we have reports here that reflect similar behaviours?

All in all, like most animals, remaining adaptable and changing behaviours to meet the need of the moment is what makes it so interesting.

Cheers

I feel like Im in a bit of a disjointed reality tonight.

This footage has come out about the gorilla walking upright, and one video suggests its the only upright walking primate aside from humans (and the gorilla's other immediate family members).
I have just finished watching a documentary on the Orang Pendek, where there was the usual investigations.. is this footprint cast legit? (theres always the one person saying no way)... and where can we put trip wires and motion cameras to maybe get a photo? etc.
All the while Im coming here reading up about this huge, complex, intelligent, upright, bipedal primate that we know lives in our own backyard.
Its surreal to be privy to something while still seeing that the rest of the world havent got the memo yet.
Impossibility is purely an illusion... made by a possibility one has yet to be exposed to
