Hey Horserider ,
Im not sure if this is what your talking about , but I had a spooky experience once .
My friend was moving to Quatar . Yep , the persian gulf , anyway , we had a going away party for her , of course it was fancy dress , anything middle eastern . Someone gave me a black sarong ( which I never wore , honest , cough ) years ago and I thought it would look great if I wrapped it round my head , it would go with the horrid beard I grew .
I wrapped this thing around my head and secured it dessert style in under a second . It was like I had done it a million times before , I looked at my friend and she looked at me like faaaaaaaar out .

Genetic memory ? Past life thingy ? Dunno

Im not sure if I have anything going on here myself... will let you be the judge...

1.) I have dejavu regularly, around once a week, and its always very strong and involves more than just one sensory experience at a time (same conversation, in same setting, with that person, thinking that particular thought etc)

2.) A few months ago, when I approached a Buddhist Lama after a talk he presented, he immediately said he recognised me.. I had not seen a talk of his before that night. That blew me away.

3.) Side-line thing - Ive been told several times now that someone has seen a double of me, in a place/town that I was nowhere near at the time... not just someone that looks like me, they swear it was me

It might just be Genetic memory .
eg:- why does a pointer dog point? Genetic memory .

Anything bad happened around the times of these sightings? Doppleganger sightings are traditionally thought of as a bad portent...

Horserider - thanks for the thoughts.. I like

Forestguy - That is an interesting theory, I havent heard that before. I dont recall what was going on during those times.. no particularly bad events come to mind, though on one occassion it was during a down time for me.

I think Ive said this in another post of mine somewhere on the forum....

there is a theory that experiencing dejavu means you are on the right path.. the one you are meant to be on.

I have heard exactly the same thing and agree. Good to know we are doing something right (thumb). Peace of mind and more importantly that we are here for a reason. (god knows what that is :D )

Hey Horserider,
been reading your post with much interest. Your theory on being coached and trying to learn things to improve your knowledge for spiritual advancement is bang on the money. We all have spirit guides to watch out for us and help were possible. Sometimes when you fell attached to someone you have just meet it is because you have known them in a past life. I've recently been doing alot of past life regression to help with some things that have been happening with myself. In one session I met a fellow who straight away seemed very familiar to me. We got on very well, he took me back through the earlier years of this life and replayed lots of different moments for me and explained why they happened. Most of my early life till the last couple of years had been an absolute mess. He explained each event, why it happened and told me if I could have handled it better or if there was nothing I could have done to make it any better. All this he done in avery light hearted manner that didn't load me up with guilt. When we reached the part of my life where things started to turn around for me he also explained why things happened the way they did. Then we ventured into my future. As we went through different scenes yet to happen he kept changing into outlandish outfits explaining that he loved the way modern fabrics felt and he really enjoyed the range of colors as nothing like this was available when he was alive. At the end of showing some of my future he gave a couple of tips (not winning horses unfortunatly) and as a last piece of advise he playfully tugged on my beard,(thick red Ned Kelly style) and said by the way lose this thing, it will suit you more when you're an old man and that's not now. With that I was brought out of the regression. The person helping me smiled and said do you know who that was? I felt really silly but I couldn't stop the felling that it was me. She confirmed this. It was me from a past life in ancient britan. Apparently it's a pretty big deal when this happens. Don"t know that you can say I've Haunted myself but hope it gives you something to reflect on.

The only thing I have heard about is a case from Michael Newald`s book (Destiny of Souls?) when during one interlife regression the individual involved went back to a life in England in which she/he had haunted a home for several decades. In a nutshell, the past life involved a woman (the client`s past life) who`s husband had left overseas promising to return. She waited years for him but he never returned and she died heartbroken. Apparently, she had become so attached to the notion of remaining in the home to await his arrival that she remained at the house even after death.

Incidentally, there are a lot of excellent researchers in this field now but two I highly recommend are Dr. Michael Newald and Jon Klimo. What I particularly enjoy about these individuals is that they have an academic background and therefore are well versed in the more traditional explanations (sceptical  ) for such phenomena.

There seems to be a large body of work stemming from pioneer researchers such as Ian Stevenson to more modern researchers which have highlighted a link with past life occurences influencing certain traits, neuroses and even physical body markings (eg. birth marks).

Hello Horserider !
Coincidently , about 3 weeks before you posted this thread , I took a deep ancestry dna test .

My biological ancestors left africa 150,000 years ago and entered into egypt . A SPOOKY coincidence with my above reply to your post . They then moved north into iraq . A worry (lol) . They then headed further north into kazakhstan and then into western russia . There are concentrations of my haplogroup in southern france , northern spain , england , northern scotland , india , nepal and a small concentration in west africa .

I guess what I'm trying to say is , maybe we all have genetic memory , like you with your previously unknown horse riding experience , genetic trait's passed down through the age's or past lives .

I'd thoroughly recomend anyone interested in their biological ancestry to have a peek at the website . From what the website is saying , we all came from africa and headed into various parts of the planet . You might think your an aussie , but as you can see , its not that simple .

Just on the dejavu topic...
I know a lot of people explain it away as the brain mis-firing and going into a loop where it perceives the present as memory instead of the present... I am fully aware of this explanation however...
It does not explain what happened to me once.
I have been getting them, like many people, since I was a child. I get them a lot less these days, but I had one once at work. I just mentioned "Oh! I'm having a dejavu!"
And about 4 of my colleagues were standing together.
They each started saying "Oh yeah, I get them" Or "not me"
(just as it was unfolding in my dejavu)
So I quickly slipped ahead and blurted out "You don't get them do you?" pointing at one of them.
(because in my head I had heard her say "I don't get them")
And she said "no I don't"
I went on to say that I knew that already!

Now I'm sure people will say that statistically it would probably be a good guess or something, but I don't require proof or to prove it to others, it is enough that I know for myself.

I don't call myself psychic, because it has a lot of stereotypes and connotations to it. But I have to say that I regularly "know" stuff. I don't know how I know and I often don't tell others, I just keep it to myself. I also don't think it is the kind of thing that I can command or conjure at will, at least not for me.

While browsing in the happy herbs shop once, the owner, Ray, came up to me and said
"aaah! you are a witch!"
I said "no"
and he said
"you are psychic though."

funnily enough I had been "talking" to him to get his attention in my mind as the shop was fairly busy and wanted some help finding something but didn't want to interrupt him, so I had been coaxing him over in my head.

This is just a quick example, so... Basically I have no idea if there is any truth or validity in me having access to any psychic type of skills or anything, but always find it interesting when little things happen that make me go "hmmmm...."

Not sure if I should try developing it or just leave well enough alone.
Thoughts anyone?

Mad Elaine

We are ALL psychic... its a matter of who uses it more/underestands it more/is in tune with it more...

In regards to de ja vu I believe its possibly maybe lol when we tap into our psychic & forsee whats happening as it happens ie as you said as it continues unfolding.. that is because we have tapped out/in to the psychic

Well yes guys i do believe we do have a job to learn & spiritually advance & hence why we come back / reincarnate

The people we meet that we felt we met before, we have met before :) Some souls are new, some are old.

The older souls usually will say they know they are older souls, & have experienced meeting someone they felt they knew before. The newer souls usually will say "im not sure if ive been back before" or "i dont ever meet anyone i feel i have met before" these are just examples i like

As for learning... i can say one thing: If you ever find a hobby or interest that you fall head over heels passionate about, its for a reason. You did it before & your back here learning again & continuing doing what u liked before as an entertainment whilst ur here learning AND/OR sometimes what you are passionate about is the learning tool you found to help you advance spiritually. Some people find their passion others dont. Its not so bad if you dont find a passion, there are other ways to spiritually advance not just through your passion... passion is just a great way to learn stronger - but there are many other ways we learn

ie:

relationships
loss (financially or mourning)
passion/hobby or interest
meditation
near death experiences
spiritual experiences
& sometimes via a person who is on a high spirit level who comes to teach you (& others)
Sometimes we are here as teachers too, please dont forget that ;)

Sorry to take the romance of of it, but studies on déjà vu have shown that the moment it happens the brain has actually stopped for a split second, and the feeling of something happing before (déjà vu), is actually your brain reliving that moment and trying to keep up with what's just happened.
