Hey everyone.... New to the forum so Hi...
I emailed Dean last week in regard to Yowie sightings on the NSW Central Coast. Dean kindly responded and provided info on the Watagans...
I have also heard of a sighting a long time ago from a guy driving through the Mangrove Mountain area and a sighting at Kariong in Rex Gilroy's last book.
The Kariong sighting sounds a bit out there as he described an area quite urbanised...

Maybe the wilderness of Wondabyne...but still.
Anyway, Has anyone else got any info possible sightings in Brisbane Water, Popran, Dharug or Yengo parks...??
Cheers..

Hey,
My Dad lives in Cooranbong, right next to the Watigans. There are alot of locals that know about yowies in that area and if you have a look on the yowiehunters site there is a pic form the creek bros. footage taken from the watigans. Thats if you didn't already know. Are you planning on researching yowies in the area.

G'day mate i used to live in Kariong (lucky me) but there is definatly something going on round there, the bush there feels very uneasy to me, when i lived there kariong was surrounded by very thick bush, i dont get up there often anymore so i dunno what its like now. Always felt like we were being watched round the area.

Hi Bowhunter,
Gilroy never really pinpointed the location of the alleged sighting at Kariong...
If you are driving toward Woy Woy on the Woy Woy Road, the bush on the left is not - shall we say - thick enough to be wilderness and therefore hide anything, even if the creature was intelligent.
On the right side of the road, there is much more scope to exist without notice as the bushland is on a vaster scale... It's here I think that Gilroy's witness may have made their sighting.... It also backs onto parks such as Popran and Dharug, alhtough there is the problem of the F3.... This is where I think the possibility of discreet movement of the Yowie is relevant and also possibly the site of the Kariong sighting... and that is the underpass near Piles creek where the creature would not have to cross the F3 and face possibly disastrous consequences... Once it crosses that barrier, it is free to roam to the Popran, Dharug and then it's a free rein to Yengo and of course Wollemi and Blue Mtns.
I don't have any plans to physically research the subject, but am always interested in info.... Who knows what will happen....

Gilroy was never one to document accurately, nor had the capacity to provide references.
I have a file on the area, and will try to drag it up - just have to locate the right Data CD.

Hi Everyone,
Sorry to sound like a dog with a bone with this area, but it seems to me to be a ripe hunting ground (if I can use that word) for the Yowies..
Recently went up to Mangrove Creek Dam and thought about the prohibited area and the bush at the backwaters of the dam. I'm sure it's the Yengo area.
Any reports in that area that anyone knows about...??
