Ok , I bought my house 5 and a half years ago, the only history I know about my house is that it is now 17 years old and i am the 7th owner, within the first 2 months of living here the lights would flicker, so i got an electrician to check it out, he found no problems, this still happens, after about a year in the house after goin to bed there would be an enormously bright/white light that would light my whole room for a split second the light didnt come from the light above the bed, but the room itself ! my wife and i would be lying there with our EYES CLOSED and we would see the light through our eyelids,kind of like a very very strong camera flash, this still happens about every few months it was quite regular when it first started but not anymore, I have heard ababy crying witch seemed to come from my daughters room when i looked nothing there , I thought maybe just a lyer bird outside her window, I have heard this twice. I went outside one day while my wife and kids were taking a nap and was locked out of my house, i have a large sliding glass door that can only be locked from the inside, you can only lock the door by closing it and then locking it from inside, I though the kids were playing a prank but when i finnaly got back inside everyone was still asleep!. Then one morning my son, ( he was 4 at the time ) told us that there was a lady in his room smiling at him, we told him he must have been dreaming, but he kept talking about her so I asked him what she looked like, he said that she was small when i asked him how big he raised his arms above his head, I said thats not small, he said ye she had no legs.. Two weeks ago I seen Three shadows on the wall outside my sons bedroom that looked like people, it scared the c**p out of me,Ive seen them three times now! I told my wife but we never mention any of this in front of our kids for obvious reasons ( they are 6 and 9 ) now my son is complaining about someone looking at him at night and doesnt want to sleep in his room....

A woman was walking past my mum about aweek ago and stopped her in the street and said your son has weird stuff happen in his house ! when she said ye how do you know she said that she is Psychic and that my house is built on a portal !!! and that some type of annerversary is coming up thats why so many things are happening hear at the moment but it should die down. Well last night It was very cold and wet so all windows etc where shut the curtains next to where I was sitting suddenly blew up and waved around for around 2 -3 secs.

My wife and I have learnt to live with the weird things that happen here ( Ive only mentioned the larger things that go on ) but my son is starting to get scared apart from blow it off as dreams etc ( which I know isnt true ) I dont know what to tell him... We need some advice from someone that has similar things happen, what do i tell a nine year old that is scared to sleep in his room because someone keeps looking at him??

c**p Didge, Horserider would have some answers. I put in her post smudge sticks to prevent any negative energies hanging around. These are usually sage sticks that the american indians used to propel nasties back in the day. Other than that I dont have much. Do you know much on the history of the house (ie) deaths etc?

You have a problem which is way beyond any advice many could give. The only thing I can suggest is to find a not for profit, genuine, sane, experienced person with a proven ability who might be able to help. The article below probably doesn't answer your immediate worry but may be a good start. Ring the Anglican diocese office and ask if you can get a contact for the fellow below or someone else they may suggest who can help you. I take your concerns very seriously and pray you can find good help and soon.

I would not be tempted to play around with amateurs because they may actually make the problem worse or at best just be a waste of time. I have a some experience in dealing with self professed "experts" in this arena because of a missing family member and I can tell you that there are a lot of grubby amateurs who do a lot of damage. They ruin it for the very, very few genuine skilled people. Personally I would inclined to look to the likes of the fellow in the article below. He seems the sort of down to earth person you need, or someone like him.

Jeffa, no deaths as far as i am aware, my wife and I always thought it was pretty cool with the lights and little things, but I had the c**p scared out of me three times now with the shadows, my mum rang the psychic that she ran into down the street about the shadows because I had been reading in another thread about shadow people and got worried, the psychic said she didnt think that it was them, that they mean us no harm she felt we are living on or near a portal ? Like I said I am not scared of whats happening , I hav'nt felt threatened at all just gives you a good scare when you see three peaple cruising across the wall near your 9 year old sons bedroom!

Nothing has happened were I thought we were in danger, like I said the only thing thats scared me was the shadows, the last time I seen a shadow was sat night my son sleeped in his room thurs, fri night then sat night he didnt want to then I saw " them" on the wall later that night near his room I think he knows when they are going to be here ?. Bt dont want to talk about it with him incase I feed the fear .... I ,ve just been blowing it off, They just saying hello , they wont hurt you, you might have been dreaming things like that, is this wrong?

As you know I'm not big on ghost.When I was 5.I lived in a house in Penrith wich a lot of the same things as you had happen.Light flicking some people seeing ghostly figers,temperature dropping to -2c from 25c in 2min and lot more.Any way my farther said that no one has die in the house,which was true.He also said there must be a scientific explanation for what was going on.We moved from the house when I was 13.This is why I grow up as a sceptic.But I'm not a sceptic any more.What if there is no scientific explanation,then what..??

Your young son and your own concern is telling you the answer to that question better than I can and is all you need to know. I know nothing of your situation other than what you have said here. I have a neglible knowledge of what you discuss and I would never dare fall into the trap of trying to translate my experiences into your situation. Nor am I a child psychologist but I have four grandchildren and protecting them is a prime concern. At the young ages of your children, you and your wife are the first people in their life to whom they turn when they cannot understand anything. They will pick up and mimic your reactions and they are disarmingly perceptive of your emotional responses to everything. I also know that they are all different and what works for one may not work for another. I cannot tell you what to do or say. You do seem to have some concerns and, if you and your wife feel you need help, then talk to someone who has deep experience and is a professional. Welcome to being a parent - it is never easy, is it? Do you have grandparents close by for the kids to talk to? We can sometimes be handy to have around.

Hi guys , i've got a booking on monday with the psychic that spoke to my mum , she has said that she thinks everything will die down in a couple of weeks ? She says she thinks all the activity is because of some type of anneversary, so I'll see what else she says on monday and go from there, nothing else has happened since sat night, my son slept in his room last night

Digmaster sounding good.. usually anniversarys can mark & cause activity, & there will be mssgs i believe on Monday for you hence why now your son maybe felt ok to sleep in the room because the spirits will stop annoying you now they know ur going to get answers... & possibly ur son felt the non presence of the spirits hence why he slept in there... make sense?

Sorry guys that post was rushed so just adding to that.....

If a spirit is around & wants to be known sometimes they do come through around anniversarys because they know you will be thinking of them so are more likely to notice them around & realise its them.

When they want to pass on messages (be it someone you knew or not) they tend to back off when they know you are on your way to see a medium. They back off because they realise they dont need to keep pestering you because they know they will be able to speak through the medium in the session.

So as i was saying i suspect that after you decided to go to the medium they backed off & left knowing theyll talk on Monday. So possibly you're son picked up on the non-presence & hence why he was okay to sleep in his room last night.

Will be interesting to see who is coming through.. may not be one but two. May be someone related past on & possibly someone not related who knows.

There may be an energy vortex in the bedroom or house that allows for spirit to come through easily.
If its the case & she is a good medium she should be able to tell you the exact location & how to close it off.
Think of it as a tap that needs to be turned off to stop the activity/spirits coming through.

Best wishes best of luck hope it all ends for the good soon, it should Its sounding better already.. they may have backed off already which is good news, but follow through with your appointment & get the messages

Horserider, what you said about the anniversary is pretty much exactly what the medium told me today ! I think shes pretty good she described my HOUSE ! and she new that I lived in the bush ! there is no way she could know that !

Described your house & you living in the bush ... mine did the same.. usually the genuine & extremely good ones can, sounds like your on an excellent lead, thats awesome .

Spirits most likely would show her these things to confirm to you that your on the right lead & that she is genuine so as to help you gain the trust & be open to the messages, sounds like someone on the other sides busting to give you some messages!

Look forward to hearing about it, & we'll understand much of its personal, for you, so cant be shared but an overall feedback would be great

Hey Didge & Dion........ Speaking of which i may have more activity soon myself i think...

Dog growled at something mid air last night (it was the same minute I turned the light off & it was the first time Ive turned the lights out to sleep since the incident... naturally the light went right back on!!!

..... AND NOW..... he is staring strangely at the spot my dad saw the guardian angel, he seems to be visually following something moving around the room... & than sniffing the air as if he were sniffing it flying around us... bloody great, dammmmm i cant be bothered with the ghostys too much hassle! He isnt growling though & how odd that it happens to be the spot the good one was sitting in....

So Didge they dont just go away, they do hang around sometimes... and come back... specially the good ones I think this ones now the good one anyway lol.. either that or there's a little harmless flea flying around in the air that i cant see???

hi guys, went well, was very weird, one of the first things she said to me was that I go bushwalking alot , then she said but not just bushwalking that I was searching for something ! weird ay ?

She said the crazy light shows where a relitive of mine trying to let us know that she was around and that the 'others' didnt mean any harm they were just visiting, she mentioned the portal/gateway again she beleives its something to do with the aboriginals that lived hear before there where any houses !

my reli told her that they have been trying to communicate with my son, This is the weird bit. She said my son is a ......... forget the word, but animals especialy birds are attracted to him because he has a special way with them ,,,, I found this very interesting because ever since he was born he has been able to get extreamly close to wild animals especily birds !! When he was around 3-4 I could hear him laughing and talking to himself on our veranda, when I went out he had around 15-20 lorikeets all around him, some on the veranda within a foot of him and others siting around the railing, and once when helping me garden one landed on his shoulder, I just thought that one was someones pet? maybe, maybe not ? we also have a galah that visits reguarly and always sits closer to my son he is the only one that can hand feed it or touch it it flys away when anyones else tries.

apparently things started to get real weird because there was a reunion of some type to do with the othere guys that were hanging around, it has died down havnt seen any shadows,

last night we did get the bright flash of light in our room again , but thats been happening for a few years where used to it now.. apparently thats my reli ?

She said she beleives my son is very receptive, and that he gets it from me, but I dont understand or realise when Im gettin a message ? I have had dreams that have come true, they felt very real at the time but only once I knew that It was going to happen ,

she said to explain to my son that if thought someone was in his room to say hi and that he wants to sleep, ?

It worked he is sleeping in his room and hasnt had any dramas as yet ... So all looks good so far.

ermmmm did you ever wonder if perhaps those birds who are keen on your son could be spirits , guardians, or possibe sirits from the past? EIther that ir they know he can read them well Cute i say either way!!

Yep they dont seem to go away competely, theyll be around a bit but its al good once theyre under control, they just pop in to see what your up to

As for you understanding messages etc.. you just need to not try too hard & always be aware of their presence & be in tune with the topic of spirit world.. these two things & listening too your inner feelings will be the key to tuning in (understanding more)... dont stress it will all come. Remain relaxed , very important to remain relaxed & open to it all, and you will see in due time more answers to your questions, let it unravel itself

Bow hunter, what ever they where they left for a few months then returned, they seem to leave my son alone now, we still get the bright flash of light in my room but no-where near as often the last time was 18 july 2012, a couple of days before that the sliding door to our loundry closed slowly by itself while i watched, I think everything settled down once we all stopped freakin out about it......

Bowhunter, Its been fairly quiet had the flash of light for the first time in a long while ( around mid Dec ) I dont bother keeping dates anymore, the only other weird thing was I was Hme by myself, my alarm went off for work, I got up then my alarm went off again, ( I thought I must have hit snooze by accident ) as i got to my bedroom to turn it off it stopped when i checked alarm it waS already turned off !

very interesting. I personally have had a very good friend who died tragically stick around. I wont say haunt because he was a friend. He used to make things move. in front of me including others. And at one time made several things at once all balance on tables, book shelves, etc. right on their ends. This was after I asked him to do it if it was him. Mind blowing. Room went ice cold and hairs on body on end.

Hi didgmaster, have only been a member on this panel for 6 months so I've got a lot of reading to catch up with but I can relate to an experience similar to yours involving a friend and her three kids. They have been living in this house for some time now but began experiencing paranormal activity about nine months after moving in. They began hearing footsteps up and down the hallway but I suggested to them that because they had a polished wooden floor it could be the wood contracting and expanding with temperature change. The three kids were triplets - the two boys shared a room and the girl her own. one of the boys began feeling his toes being grabbed through the bed clothes and a feeling of something heavy on top of him to which he responded with ''get off me''. I must add that this family has no notion of the supernatural or paranormal and wouldn't be overly concerned if they thought they had a problem. This activity continued for a period until the next phase The boy wore a gold chain necklace all the time - even to bed. Woke up one morning to find the chain under his bed completely intact like it had been carefully removed from around his neck. The next morning he woke up with the chain vanishing altogether. This entity..... or whatever may have decided that it wasn't getting a sufficient response from this lad so he moved onto the other boy. He reported that he had something breathing into his face and when he jumped out of bed and made for the door something grabbed him by the shoulders preventing his exit. While all this was going on with the boys the sister in her own room experienced nothing. The two boys were involved with the Sea Scouts and would spend weekends away, one morning while they were away the mother was awakened by an image standing at her door, being half asleep she asked is that you ( mentioning his name) to which there was no reply , it stood there momentarily and then moved on. She described it as being male,tall; with an overcoat on and the lapels turned up. Apparently a female image was also seen so they had two entities in the house. The mother also reported seeing little'' lightning type'' flashes materialising in the mirror of her dressing room table. I have since read that this is not uncommon with paranormal activity.

By this time I was becoming quite concerned about their welfare and I asked if they had any history of the house that they had moved into with which to my dismay she replied, "well, I'm told the previous occupants did hold regular seances there," to which I replied "well, that explains everything. Two of the kids have grown up and moved out but my friend still lives there with one of the boys. I see her periodically and I inquire about the house and she tells me that all the activity has relatively disappeared.
