I sent this video of a possible Buyip encounter off to a few people via email but thought I would post it up here to see what other people think. Also attached is an image I believe the guy is talking about in the video.

Thanks for that Dion ive been interested in the Bunyip for many years and heard a lot of stories from aboriginals but have never heard of a white guy actualy seeing one!.........

Well hang on there's a bunyip sighting report on this website under helensburgh nsw which is where i just spent the last 8mths with the horse... Helensburgh is South, so is Kangaroo Valley as mentioned in this video... Ive also spent time near Kangaroo Valley when i had the horse in nearby Berry NSW at intensive care equine hospital, & from what i remember i saw alot of mountains & distant VERY distant bush, but lots of grassy mountains, very remote.. ie large large lots of lands

I thought it similar to the dog description in this historical clipping I found from the Murrumbidgee dated 1918.

I am a firm believer in Indigenous Australian story's of the Bunyip where there is smoke there is fire so to speak, so there has to be something to the story's.

Are they still out there I am not to sure.

Disappointing to not have at least a fuller description, but absolutely fascinating that someone saw other mythical beasts. It does make you stop and wonder just what is probably out there still in the less travelled parts of the river systems. You can wonder if they were on the turps or not but what reason would they have to fib about such sightings. Thanks for that Dave.

Just for interest, the aborigines had a rock fish trap in the Queanbeyan river just below the town at Oaks Estate, and pre the Captain's Flat mining contamination of the river, large quantities of very big fish were caught all up and down the river. The point being that there would have been ample fish for a higher order predator before European settlement.

Was the area the encounter happened have any lakes, swamps, rivers or water holes nearby?

What caught my attention the most was that he said when it pounced from the bush, it landed with no thud. It would have to be a agile animal to do that. Im not talking big cat, thylacoleo or bunyip for that matter. Maybe it was something else? What he described it as reminded me of this picture.
