Toowoomba and the surrounding area

Hey all, long time reader first time poster and all that. I was wondering if there was any other people who had had any experiences with the toowoomba area?

I have only moved to toowoomba in the last year but my dad used to bring us kids out this way (hence the surrounding area's part) to go camping all the time when we were younger, it wasnt a common thing but there was at least three times where we heard calls/screams and at least once where we think we saw something rather large watching us at camp (i was too young to really take it in) I cant really say as to where these places are because it was so long ago and my father's reply tends to be "we camped damn near all over that area" but if anyone is in the toowoomba area i would love to hear your stories if not maybe go on a little yowie hunt (non voilent of course) sometime?

Also i have an idea on how to maybe be able to spot/see where the yowie is when they circle camps and such, this is a pretty rough idea but i think it could come in handy,

glowsticks

does anyone know or have maybe a rough idea on how a yowie would take to glowsticks? i mean once they are broken they last for a few good hours and if you were to scatter a few around camp insight, do you think a yowie would be interested enough to pick one up? If that were the case and you were able to see it you could get a very rough idea as to maybe the height of the yowie as my guess would be that it may sniff or taste it? Also maybe find some way to throw or slingshot them towards where you can hear some walking screams? Sorry if i didnt explain this enough its just that i was in the shower and am in a rush to get the idea out before i lose it.
