Does this exist?

Putting this out there for feedback and dont want to sound like total conspiracy theorist (which I am) but here goes.
Do we have any members that are or where part of any police force in Australia that can assist with my question?
Background
20 years ago I met a former Police officer who was serving in a country area for a long time during the 80's, he claimed to have had an experience with a UFO whilst working one night on his own. The experience really shook him hard. When I meet him in 94 he was still in the force however he made it known to certain people in the force what had happened and since that day his career didn't really go anywhere. He told me that during many year of digging he discovered that his force (which i wont name) had files on cases that cant be explained. Anything from UFO sightings, to intruder (possibly Yowie related) reports, to murders, Unexplained stock deaths, to humans deaths, assaults and attacks but so called Animal's. Even some cold cases have been thrown in this pile.
Unfortunately he reckons he could never learn their location from higher up in the chain who laugh it off and dismiss it as fairy tales. What is also unfortunate is that the QLD Government removed FOI requests from State Government files a few years ago so we cant get access to them that way.
I know that military has these kinds of files (and I dont want to use that X term please) that they keep denying so I am wondering if any serving or former Australian Police officers anywhere can confirm if they have similar files in their state and if they do in fact exist.?
I ask this not to make trouble but details of what these file could contain (if they exist) could be vital in unlocking this mystery
Ray
BTW I haven't seen that former officer since 97, moved to the country and never heard of again.

Exactly "how" do you "know", Ray? If they were in the Archives then you can access them now. I do not recall ever seeing anything in the Central Registry file listings at Defence that even hinted at this and I had very high clearance.

Andrew,
Good point allow me to clarify. I was told by former Military personal who claimed to have knowledge of them and I believed them, I had known them for a while and to me, they where genuine. There was also another reason which I cannot discuss here but happy to explain in PM if you like

Further though, I am only talking as it related to law enforcement. I understand that i made a claim in passing but I do stand bye it but I wont this focus to be about civilian reports

Best to stay at that level. If military personnel were not the authors, witnesses or addressees on the files then it is just hearsay and that is how urban myths start, and that helps no one.

PM me by all means.

Raymond every police force in the western world has a long history of UFO sightings - Australia included.
As far as files for unknown phenomena, who knows for sure??? Best bet is to check out these websites and contact the researchers directly - be interested to hear their opinion.

Well, I was one but I'm since retired.
I know nothing about a central registry of UFO, unusual phenomena, or yowie sights. Well for my state anyway.
The one occasion that a UFO was reported to the station where I was, we passed the information onto the Duty Officer at RAAF Williamtown. I'd say a local record was made, but nothing else and we certainly didn't possess any forms (and we had plenty of them) that related specifically to the 'unusual'.
The other incident occurred near Buronga, which is in N.S.W. opposite Mildura, circa 1967. At that time N.A.S.A. was launching high altitude balloons from Mildura Airport, to get information for the space launches. The moon landing was a couple of year later. One of the police was driving back from a job at night between Buronga in Dareton, which at that time was just scrub, and he saw a UFO on the ground. As he approached in the vehicle it took off into the air.
He was a bit rattled to say the least, and this sighting didn't hurt his career. He was promoted several times, & retired when he had to, and suffered no discrimination whatsoever. He died about three years ago.
I would suggest Ray that your informant is a bit delusional and perhaps his career didn't go anywhere for other reasons.
Because we worked at night, it does stand to reason that police on the very odd occasion, would see UFO's .

HI Dickwho
You are absolutely correct, whether its UFO's or Yowie's, you always need to allow for a fudge factor or spin factor. I dont doubt his experience (abduction) it seems very genuine to me and I have interviewed hundreds of abductee s over the years and you know which ones are full of it.
Maybe these files dont exist, maybe there is just a mountain of files marked unsolved, I dont know but I am going to try and find out
Cheers
Ray

Not sure what year exactly (may be 1990s), there were sightings of multi-coloured ufos witnessed by several patrol cars who were chasing the ufos and communicating with dispatch at the same time due to a flood of calls from panicked residents.
It was somewhere mid USA and a documentary was made about this impressive case. The dispatch worker at first though she was on the receiving end of a joke when callers kept describing ufo sightings to her. It was not until a patrol car called for back up that she realised this was no joke as the officer seemed scared.
Cannot recall the name of the doco but do recall listening to the dispatch recordings.

If your seriously interested in Ufology, then everyone needs to check out and support the Australian Disclosure Project, here is one snippet as it relates to military files and this threat, worth a look, although, asks more questions than it answers

Hi Strange2; That's the one, oh what a case!
And why hasn't this case had world wide coverage given the level and integrity of the witnesses involved.
I have a theory about the airbase guy who did seem to give a hoot about what was happening and kept saying there is nothing I can see. I recon he saw all right, but was probably gagged by authority to keep quite about it.

Ooops, I meant to say the airbase guy who did'nt seem to give a hoot..
And the Australian Disclosure Project is very important; someone high up must know something.

Hey guy's ! There was a rash of ufo sightings in victoria and southern n.s.w. in the late 70's or so . It was all over the national news for a week . Why I'm mentioning this is because a police car was swooped by a ufo . No joke , it was the headline on the national news , it may be worth looking into . I cant find anything about it .
It was at this time my father and I had our encounter very early one morning while going to work . Pitch black .
It looked like a truck or tractor in the paddock , orange light on top and white light on the bottom just like clearance lights and headlight's . We didnt take much notice . As we approached , it got further away . But as we crossed the local bridge it crossed the paddocks , through the tree's and onto the river and proceeded to fly up the river , away from us . I begged my father to take the next turn but he wouldnt .
That arvo we looked to see if a helicopter could squeeze between the tree's , they were about 15 foot apart . My father never spoke of it again .
I mentioned it to a friend who lived in the area and told me that his dogs were under the house a few nights that week , they were barking and cringing and wouldnt come out .
The police might have recording's of this somewhere......??????????????
Anyway have a great new year !!
