Looks promising..but there is something not quite right..
The bit where they jokingly knew what it was at the start..and then said

Just found a male and a female thylacine head side by side..

Then..in the interview..

"Our video... shows how the day unfolded, nothing was staged at all except the scene of the fresh water lobster we filmed a couple of months ago.

Sooo...nothing was staged except the bit they staged..
The scene where they are pretending to look for crayfish was staged as well as the lobster footage..same clothes and hair cut as the present find the skull scene..
Why bother filming yourself pretending to look for crayfish..with the full intention of dropping the real crayfish footage in later.
There is something odd in all of this..I hope I am wrong..
I hope its not just a fox skull they planted for a gag..or something equally lame..
So many hoaxers and idiots are wrecking the fields i love..

It's sounds so pedantic to say, but as Mike pointed out, they immediately (on video at least) call the bones something that most people would not be able to identify. The lack of other skeletal remains is very suspect to me also. I did note a few problems with the bones as they were quickly flashed on the video (tooth count, hard palate holes and lower jaw hinge).

Admitting they have "joked" in earlier parts of the vid is problematic, maybe they are honest.... maybe this is a continuation of their form of fun. They don't make a distinction that they are being serious in the video so it's difficult for me to tell. They did collect the skull(s) and submit them to the local museum which is encouraging. It will be interesting if there is a published follow up from an expert.

It would be great if it were a real thylacine skull. There are a few things that make me think otherwise though.

Sadly, too true, but that doesn't stop my hopes and endeavours...

Sadly the skull has been confirmed to be that of a large dog.

I don't think they were attempting a hoax since they did take the skull in to have it examined.

Too bad it wasn't a Thylacine but I still believe they're out there.
