Hey guys,

I'm not usually into running around after ghosts - but what with the recent spate of people going there (mostly Urban Explorers, photographers, etc) and coming back with "eerie" tales.. I'm getting intrigued.

There has been numerous reports of hearing voices, footsteps, hearing music from the 50s, a fridge humming, and some visual evidence such as entities walking past doorways, faces in windows, etc.

I've done as much research as I can online and it only tells me pretty much what I've already typed out. So, has anyone else heard about this place and could possibly give me any more background info? If I do decide to go there (still tentative on that one.. haunted mental asylum - you only hear those words in horror movies.. usually ones where everyone dies at the end) - I would like to have as much knowledge about it before I decide to head in. Photographs, EVP & video will be taken if I do decide to go.

Here's one of many pics you'll find if you google image search the place.

Hey Deadpool, long time, no see!

Unfortunately, the image you posted is so freaking huge it can probably be seen from space and it's just too big to see anything without scrolling up and down and three times
across my monitor! Could you resize possibly?

Anyway, yeah, I've heard about the place, used to work for a while at the Wacol immigration centre in fact, until the night someone was murdered on the other side of the
wall at 1am while I was in the office (no, I never heard a thing). The place closed down soon after but that was just a coincidental occurrence, sad as it was. The Asylum as it
was called, had a pretty fearsome reputation as being somewhere you just did NOT want to be in daytime, let alone at night, but you know how it is... the challenge is thrown
down and someone will always take it up. Don't have anything of value to add unfortunately, but if you want a bona fide haunted place to check out, try Newstead House on
the bank of the Brisbane River. I've been there a few times and definitely got the feeling I wasn't alone. There is one room that is supposedly more usual for weird things to
happen - the moving rocking chair being one of them.

Toowong Cemetary and JC Slaughter falls are other relatively well-known places for activity, as is City Hall, but that's pretty well known I guess.

My mate's father was a carpet layer and had a contract to work at city hall doing part of the main ball room. He got adventurous and decided to go for a look around and under the stage found a trap door that went down into a back passage which eventually lead to a series of tunnels. He followed the tunnels and ended up coming out at the top end of town at the Brisbane river. The tunnel system goes right underneath the Treasury Casino, and links many of the old historic buildings. There are many reasons these could be there... smuggling, escape plans for officials and noble people for whatever reason, etc... Where abouts is JC Slaughter Falls?

Cheers,

Stu
