Latest findings
Hello again , here's my latest results .
I am now collecting multiple subjects running past the camera trap during daylight hours which tells me that they don't know what the trap is , that's a good thing .
A reoccuring error of not having enough cameras has reared it's ugly head again and there's no way around it except to make a 360 degree cctv video trap with multiple cameras .
I've done another audio test in the forest and have calculated my average body weight in hertz . 137 hertz now equals my average walking impact weight which is 73 kilo's . We can now ESTIMATE the weight and height of WALKING bipedal subjects we capture on audio . These calculations will only work for audio captured on a sony ICD recorder , recording 92 kbps / 44,100 Hz 16 bit stereo .
Interesting calls and vocalisations in the attachment below , the 3rd and 4th vocalisations I've never heard before . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yjvgBOx ... =youtu.be6

G'day Rusty.
Another brilliant video featuring some great detective work that would do Sherlock Homes proud.
Really appreciate your sharing these experiences.
As you say, that persistence should be rewarded sometime down the track. Good luck!!

Hi Rusty
Are you still basing your research around the far south coast ( sapphire coast )?

Those are interesting, especially the last two.
It's not the call of anything I'm familiar with, and whatever it was it's clearly extremely loud. I admire you for putting the time and effort into doing this work.

Thanks Searcher , if the 360 degree idea doesn't work it's game over .
Hey Chris , yes , far south coast , no point going anywhere else .
Hey Simon , I thought the last 2 were interesting as well but one of my subscribers is already saying that the last one is a deer , all good .

It's because people continue to record stuff that we have any information of this kind at all. If no one tries no one succeeds, so I really have respect for everyone who makes the effort to find things out.

Very sorry to hear that, but completely understand. It would be hard for most to imagine how strenuous your efforts have been in the bush and on the computer over the years. To gather and collate the tantalizing evidence provided so far has required uncommon dedication.Rusty2 wrote:Thanks Searcher , if the 360 degree idea doesn't work it's game over .
If the worst case scenario happens and the 360 degree camera system doesn't deliver, then I expect your work to date will have inspired others to walk in your shoes. My gut feeling is your persistence will be rewarded and you will finally outwit these elusive creatures by capturing what will hopefully be incontrovertible HD video evidence of a Yowie.

Re: Latest findings
That's right Simon . Nothing is going to happen unless we make it happen .
Searcher , when I'm an old man in an old mans home I'll know I did everything I could to help solve the problem .
Technically the 360 degree video trap can't possibly fail , it would be impossible to go anywhere near it without being detected .
Having said that , there always seems to be one more hurdle to jump , one more obstacle to overcome .
I just ordered the cameras , ouch !

Hi Rusty,Technically the 360 degree video trap can't possibly fail , it would be impossible to go anywhere near it without being detected.
Thanks for the latest video compilation.
At around 3:47 to 4:25 the ascending calls sound like a bird to me (just in the distance). I've heard something similar before and I'm trying to locate it but the brain is foggy right now. I'll keep looking.
Around 13:00 the work you've done on the impact calculations is great. Following on from your comment about the bio-mechanics of the wallaby foot causing a softer footfall and an error in weight calculations, I also noticed that you were doing your walk test wearing joggers. I would do the walk test with hard soled shoes having less shock absorption or alternatively in bare feet. There are always assumptions and the main one being made here is that the subject is bipedal. As such it may be more accurate to imitate their natural state when doing a walk test for comparison state. Addition considerations might be the style of gait. As noted from some research on Bigfoot the walking mechanics are significantly different and may be somewhat responsible for the differences in impact concentrations or the lack of ability reproduce them with a human gait.
I also noticed (at around 15:00) that the rig was against a tree, and earlier seemed to be away from a tree. Has this affected the approach and protest response at all?
From previous discussions I seem to recall you changing positions all the time as they become bored if the rig is left in an area for too long. Will that change if the trap is moved around within the same area? So initially against a tree, then later moved 10 feet away into an open area?
Just mulling over some thoughts.
Thanks again.

Re: Latest findings
Hey Trev , the bird you mention is a white throated nightjar . You can hear it in the video at 10 minutes and 15 seconds and you can hear the difference between the two . I did actually check this and was aware that I may be checked and I was paying attention to that very scenario , it's cool , check twice cut once .
I've gone back to the recordings and have two screen shots for you with the caller in the video and the white throated nightjar . Both are zoomed in and you can see the difference . Having said that , they are similar and are both ascending calls .
Your right , hard soled shoe's would be better . When I did the intial footsteps and drop tests audio a couple of years ago I found myself walking very gingerly in bare feet . Looks like I'll have to redo it in boots and see if there's any difference which I suspect there will be . Yes , there's assumptions . I guess this is a starting point that I can work from now that I know that it can be improved .
Different versions of the rig have been strapped to a tree for the last year or so , nothing has changed in that area . I've had lots of visitors to the different rigs that have been strapped to a tree over the last year and most come in from behind but it doesn't always happen . This is why I have no alternative than to have a 360 degree setup , this will stop the error of not enough cameras facing in enough directions .
The rig goes into a new area once only for a week at a time , I never go back . Yes , they do become bored with it and will get upset if I keep going back to the same place . I'll go back to the general area within a few kilometres and try another valley though .
I've attached some screen shots below . The nightjar , the caller and the new cctv rig . Although the price says $899 , it will actually cost me $1600 to get the kit with 2 x 4 TB hard drives , this will record 8 high definition cameras from daylight till dark for 7 days , pretty good really .

Thanks for putting up with my questions Rusty.
As usual you've already thought things through thoroughly.
Thanks for posting the images and identifying that pesky bird I was trying to think of.
Thanks to Greg for the link as well.
Good luck with the new rig when you get it in the field.

Re: Latest findings
Im not saying they arent bird calls on the audio but its been said that the yowie and bigfoot are excellent mimicks of bird and animal calls. Any of these calls could be them communicating with each other at night if that is the case.
Theres plenty of people who can produce near perfect bird calls so why not the yowie, a creature that lives in the bush and is adept at remaining undetected?

Awesome researching again Russ.
If someone should receive honors and accolades, toward scientific research in the Australian bush, the prize should be given to yourself. Without a question, you're thoroughness and dedication is second to none.
Thankyou again.
I know the paradollia thing will arise, if so, It does not bother myself, as maybe I have the ability to see.
But 5.42 is the typical still photo of many figures/faces that I get, when I have taken a photo around our land.
At 5.41-42 there are many faces and figures that could be!
To me, it proves that they are present, but elude the camera into seeing 4th dimensional/kaleidoscope looking portraits!
Footage from your GoPro??????? showing the setup, or walking around etc, I believe they are in the trees peeking.
I can't get still shots and zoom in, maybe you can, but IMO they are there.
As YB has stated above, I believe many of the audio sounds that you have recorded are them.
They can mimic anything, I know this.
They arent perfect, as you have found out, but exceptionally close to say the least.
Maybe next time before you enter the ancient forest, ask nicely with a positive reason to have something substantial in your eyes, as a reward.
Thankyou again Russ.
Cheers Welly

Nice shots Welly. Might be a couple there? If something is blinking in and out or is constantly changing then that would be very difficult to photograph. Thanks for sharing!
Yeah i couldnt help but look for peekers in the background when Rusty is filming the rig.
Im sure theyre checking you out from somewhere Rusty!

Re: Latest findings
Thanks Wellymon ! I appreciate it mate but still no bannana . I've already conceaded that we may never get what we're after . A clear full high definition unambiguous video is desperately needed to get us into the realm of possible , until then the yowie will remain a myth to the general public and to scientists . I don't believe anyone living today will see the scientific recognition of these creatures/beings , we're at the begining of all this .
Paradolia is a big problem . I now believe I've been an unwitting victim of it many times although I don't know how many times . In the latest video I collected maybe around 60 pieces of footage off the plotwatchers with anything moving that I couldn't identify . After going back to the cctv to check , each instance was a bird or something else quite explainable . It's on the verge of embarrassing .
What we think we see or what what we'd like to see are most likely two seperate things , unless it's a bleedingly obvious picture of a yowie or a face , without a high definition video of the subject to back it up it might as well be nothing .
All of us , myself included , really need to rethink how we deal with photo's . 1 suggestion would be to to use your cameras on BURST mode , this will allow us to at least see moving subjects of interest .
I've attached plotwatcher footage below which even has what appears to be a face in the sequence but the video says otherwise . Another picture attached shows a face peeking from behind the ferns but the video says it's just dead foliage .

A lot of youtube researchers wouldve tried to pass that footage off as something bigfoot or yowie related.
Yeah burst shots are great. Animate anything that looks interesting and see if it moves. Who knows if a yowie is watching you while you're photographing his stick structure or area etc.

Quote Rusty "something else quite explainable".
No, it should of been written as, unexplainable in our 3rd dimensional realm or bubble we live in.
This ancient forest is just that Rusty!
Yourself made me realise that, exactly that is, what it is.
I'm gonna be straight up here, from my 1st flesh and blood sighting for a minute or so, I'm not sure, if I had a camera and got the catch????
A: would of it came out as what I was witnessing?
B: If so, there is no way I would show anyone it now.............
These "Beasts are sacred" and forever will be.
Everyone on here has to realise this factor, without a single doubt.
Please realise this, as this is very very important.
No-one will ever get footage or a photo to justify to anyone or science at all.
These "Beasts" are way too smart.
They are put in this forest for a reason, to only be partially seen in the 3rd dimension and partially in the 4th???
I don't care at all, if this is only the "Yowie" forum and should be talked about in the para f'n normal section????
What a load of rubbish.
This is about the "Yowie"
A sacred "Beast" from ancient times, there for a reason to learn from us, as to be given the right to the 5th dimension as a spirit.
I see them every day, every day, all the time, night and day.
I'm very very lucky to witness this realm, it's been very very hard, which many on here have no f'n idea at all.
To all here I wish you the best.
I know what is going on and I hope one day you all can fathom this big big picture.

Hey Rusty, your channel helps a lot to stop the ridicule. Your presentation, honesty and persistance adds a lot of credibility to the subject. Not to mention the innovations and observations you have made along the way. Definetely the first stop for yowie field research.
I know the comparison has been made on here before but Bob Gymlan has an interesting new video that compares the myth and search for the gorilla by Europeans to the search for the proof of bigfoot. . It like you say, it may never be proved in our lifetime but it may be common knowledge one day.

Re: Latest findings
This book is interesting and goes towards Yowie Bait's point about the discovery of the gorilla...

Re: Latest findings
Uh oh , I think I've offended Wellymon .
Wellymon , if your reading this , come back mate , I wasn't pointing the finger at you , I was pointing it at the entire planet . Once you start looking around you'll start to see that paradolia isn't just a yowie thing , it's all over the planet . Structures on mars , structures on the moon , crashed spaceships in Antarctica , sasquatch's , bigfoot , ghosts , ufo's , lochness monster , aliens , spaceships near the sun , giant skeletons , flat earth , nibiru , the list goes on and people see what they want to see . Youtube is infested with it .
I'm not saying it's not true , what I'm saying is how do we prove all these claims ? Can't we at least be a little scientific about it ? Words and a picture aren't good enough anymore , it hurts the yowie community .
Thanks Yowie Bait . Bob Gymlan has been down that road before all of us and by the sounds of it knew many years ago that they wouldn't be discovered . Must be very frustrating for him .
Thanks for the link Simon , sounds very familiar to what we're experiencing .
