A few new Reports

Just getting back into the swing of things and cleaning up a few files here and there. Looking forward to adding some new Audio Reports, as we have some really interesting encounters here.
Writing a Report up ATM where the Yowie, almost 10ft of it, ran out in front of a car at 10pm down near the NSW/Vic border. He only just missed it by about 1 metre. He stopped the car and it came back out of the bush running directly towards him. He took off and he says it kept up with him until he got to about 80km/hr. That being the case, I guess its pointless trying to out run them on foot.....
Another Report mentions voices such as 'chattering' which we hear about from time to time, and I've heard myself, while another mentions infra sound.
Hopefully we have another good year of Reports in our 20th year Anniversary of the Website.

Welcome back, Dean. And WOW a 10 footer? how accurate is the estimate?

From time to time we do get the Reports of up to 10ft. not as common as 6 to 8ft, but they are there. I guess if Humans can be over 7ft, its not that much of a stretch for the Yowie population to have their extra tall people.
The text version is up and certainly doesn't do the report justice, text never does. Look forward to getting up the Audio Report at some stage.

Thanks Dean for posting the written report. I look forward to hearing what the witness has to say when the Audio Report is online. The emotions will be interesting!
This is another classic case where a HD dashcam would have captured some amazing footage as the creature reportedly came within about one metre of his Hilux ute.
You can just imagine what this giant ten footer would have looked like all lit up in the high beam headlights!
It will happen one day. It's just a matter of time.
I had a look at a map of where the incident took place. I'll attach as screenshots for anyone interested.

Hi Dean,
Thankfully the driver showed great composure while driving on the dirt road by not loosing control, sounds like it was a territorial display of "get the hell out of my territory".

Yeah, sorry, I should have read the text report to find what road, although the EXACT location of the sighting doesn't seem to be there.
There are several reasons for not driving late at night, especially on unlit dirt roads - this would seem to be one of them.

Bloody hell, report #101 is full on. You can hear how scared he is just from his voice. He seems to be having a hard time even talking about it, so good on him for having the guts to do so.

The eyewitness also mentions that he hasn't been out in the bush since "these last two sightings". Does this means he's had another recent experience?
That's one of the more compelling accounts I've heard. I've listened to it several times, and it sounds as if this bloke was really lucky to have looked up and into his mirror when he did.

Hi Simon,
We had a lengthy chat on the phone yesterday morning and covered it all again. The fear is certainly still there. It took S* a good three months to get a full night sleep. I can relate to that, as it had taken myself 8 months for a decent night sleep in 2009.
Terrific guy and very aware. He said the nose was very similar to a Gorilla in the way the nostrils were flared.
The kicker for him was he an almost identical encounter only 3 weeks later near Chinchilla, but this time he wasn’t about to stop. He kept driving. He said the description was exactly the same, but it wasn’t quite as tall. After that he obviously needed answers. He did a lot of research and has spoken to many people over the country and has some really interesting stories from other witnesses.
One thing he made clear was the fear was still lingering and he would never go back into the bush alone again, and again, I can relate to that also.

Great report Dean. Cant blame him for being terrified but try doing it without a car. Not fun at all as you know yourself! Is anyone else wondering why this poor man was chased not once but twice by two different yowies??! Geez!!

Well, who could blame him? He sounded terrified, as any sane person would be. I doubt I'd plan to be out in the bush after dark, alone, under any circumstances. If my car broke down, I'd be staying put until the morning. It's just frustrating to think the general public aren't aware of the seriousness of this issue, or don't believe there even is an issue with these creatures.

Simon, think you would be 'german booted' either way!
If one of these immensely powerful creatures wanted to get to you, a car would offer no protection at all.
An angry Yowie would be capable of easily ripping a door off its hinges or simply smashing a side window and reaching in with those long, hairy arms before handing out the 'Aunty Jack' treatment. (Rip your bloody arms off!)
My speculation is there would be no escape.
Thanks again to Dean and Paul for this gem of a report. The clear audio was great to listen too.

hi
According to Jamison Valley report, the yowie seems get annoyed/angered by the radio frequency device?
Is that possible when this witness use the phone to identify the location, he generated some radio frequency that yowie dislike? I found many country 4wd/ute have a mobile phone booster/amplifier installed.
If my guess is right, then yowie would stay away from cell phone base station towers then?

Interesting report.
Reminds me of that one at Wentworth Falls on Tablelands Road where that young bloke gets surrounded by a few of them.
After listening to this latest report - a few thoughts popped into my head .
Keep in mind these questions are rhetorical.
1) Why would the Yowie return for another go at the driver? Could this of been nothing more than a bluff charge to clear him out? From the Yowies perspective, the car was stationary and probably had its brake lights on and engine running. This may have been seen as a threat - a stand off of some kind so in defence of what could of been a family unit nearby - the Yowie charged.
2) Second sighting in as many weeks - man he should go and buy a lotto ticket.
3) 10Ft is incredibly tall. That would have to be the tallest one I can remember hearing about. Surely a male and quite a territorial one at that. I'm betting his family was nearby.
Any thoughts?

I agree - electronic devices seem to attract their attention, or at least clue them in to the presence of humans. Several accounts seem to indicate that these creatures are annoyed by radio transmissions.

Hi Chris,
I have heard of a Yowie/s running at a car before. It has happened. Or even to the extent where the back of the car was lifted.
Out there in such a vast mountainous area where this one obviously rules his domain, it could be capable of anything. Someone said 'Oh why if he had a phone didn't he take a photo of it"... That would have been the very last thing on my mind of I saw a 10ft Yowie running at me in the middle of the night from out of the bush.
Let’s just get the car going for a start and perhaps concentrate on getting away from it. It took him into 4th gear to escape it. I don't think anyone would have to composure to be thinking of turning around a calmly taking photos.
10ft I have heard of. Even taller. I think it’s the exception rather than the rule. But just like in the Human race we have our 5-6ft people, and we have our exceptionally tall people of nearly 8ft who play Basketball.
The second sighting only 3 weeks later was what put him over the edge not wanting to go into the bush alone anymore. It totally changed his perception of the Australian bush, as it has so many others.
Great Report. Hopefully we will have some more up over the next few weeks.

True enough. I did some digital mockups of an image taken by car of what Rusty commented as being a qirkin...my estimate upon standing from the crouched position in the photo was 15 feet!!!! Crikey!!!
The vids on my Global Monster YouTube channel.
After digital clean up the original image itself is jaw dropping.

Once I read on internet about comparing guns and bear spray. The statistics say only 50% of survival chance without injury using guns under bear attacks, because it takes 4 cool/calm/steady/accurate shots to bring down the beast (didn't mention spec of the gun though, supposedly guns for hunting). While bear spray offers 98% of the chance.
I think the yowie has similar strength/size as bears maybe higher. So maybe yowie searchers should always equip bear spray when going inside bush?

Thanks Dean for your response.
So we can assume that if this was a bluff charge that the Yowie was intent on clearing him out. I still believe just by using common animal behavior that this surely was just a move to get him off the scene. Surely there must of been a Yowie family unit nearby ... clearly wrong place at the wrong time.
I agree - taking a picture would of ended in injury or death of the witness. No need dying for the cause

I reckon a spray on a Yowie would be pointless.....a flame thrower might do the trick!! ( not that I support that of course

)
I believe it would annoy him even more to the point of collateral damage!!

10 foot and cranky !
He obviously jumped out in front of the car to be noticed otherwise he would have waited till the car went past and went on his way .
I reckon it was just for show . Just a thought ........
