It's telling that the interviewer's first question is "did they take you seriously?" - I guess it's par for the course.
Interesting that he mentioned cane toads - any introduced animal can spread, unnoticed, and it isn't until they exist in plague proportions that anyone even knows they're present.
It's also possible that what he saw was a wild dog. I'm sure those are also around in Tasmania.

Yes. I can't see tassie not having the odd wild dog. From what I gather his sighting is a bit vague.
