Have you had your house slapped?

Am wondering if any of you have had your house slapped? I had an interesting experience while living in a small cottage on a farm. Between 11PM and 1AM something the size of a basketball struck the outer wall just next to my window (curtains drawn.) I was watching a movie, lounging on the floor with my cat when we (yes, BOTH of us) heard something scratching at the window. It was a strange sound, almost like having a wire scratched across the surface-no rhythmic tapping. Caught my attention above the sound of the movie. I'm thinking, "Hmmm." Odd. I resume watching the movie. Engrossed in the movie again, cat asleep by my feet ALL OF A SUDDEN 'SLAM' right next to the window. The impact sounded like a basketball filled with sand and ball bearings that had been shot out of a cannon-it was astonishing! Both my cat and I immediately jerked our heads in the direction of the window-I was on the floor only a foot or two away. I was petrified. For real. Never had such a thing happen. The force seemed to shake the whole side of the cottage-the walls were old, thick, SOLID walls. The other thing that has remained with me is that the force seemed to vibrate the air. It was brief, but a clear, LOUD, strong impact. I stared at the window, too afraid to move the curtain, froze in position for a couple of minutes TRYING to figure out what just happened. Impossible to go out into the darkness. I decided to calmly finish the movie and afterward went to bed. All the while in my head I was replaying the incident. I was shaken.
The next day, I immediately went around to the side of the house to inspect the window. I had to raise my arm all the way up to where the impact originated. Approximately 7 feet high. There are no trees or shrubs anywhere near the window. Below the window only low growing ground cover and sand. There was nothing to indicate that something had come into contact with the house or window.
Imagine having this happen and not knowing it is typical Sasquatch behavior.

Neil Frost talks about this happening to his place in the mountains I think at once stage.
There was a loud bang on the side of the house....you can find this on YouTube I think. Search under Yowie.
There seems to be many references of those big hands slapping sides of houses or sheds. Maybe its the acoustics or communication that warrants that kind of action.
I've seen monkeys/apes do similar things with objects - almost like they are curious by the sound it makes.
( No different to humans kicking tyres at a car yard

)

Its always fascinated me that they seem to know the material makeup of objects. They will tap lightly on windows and rub their hands along tent or they will rip the back tailgate of a ute.

Yes, the reason I am curious about different slapping experiences is because in my instance the force was extremely concentrated and I found no damage the next day. An amazing impact. It truly felt like it shook the whole side of the small, stone cottage. The air really did seem to shake, too. The scratching on the window was creepy-did not sound like the soft contact of a twig-more like glass on glass or wire. I have seen photos of damage to metal buildings-the indentation. The other thing is, it clearly knew where I was positioned in my house-my drapes were closed. Other people have reported that they have slapped the house right next to their head while in bed. Was wondering if this is typical Yowie behavior. Yes, I have watched Neil's vids-several years ago. He seemed to have a bit of fun with them. I didn't have any people living close by. Had I lived around other people I probably would have mentioned the events to someone. It was memorably strange for someone who doesn't (usually) have strange experiences.

Its hard to say what kind of slap would cause damage and what would'nt.
I think the fact that different types of houses could have acoustic qualities when hit might create an interesting sound - thus the need to create a sound. I imagine a metal wall would have quite a loud sound opposed to a wooden or concrete/brick type. There could be many reasons why they do it - who really knows. They seem fascinated with windows and structures by themselves and probably wondering who or what is inside and why humans live indoors....I'm just thinking out loud.
Personally - I would be keeping my blinds closed because having 7ft+ creatures looking thru my window is unnerving and I would not be able to sleep at night.
Great experiences either way!

Hi Speck..There have been numerous reports of houses being slapped in Australia. Both yowies and sasquatches seem to display the identical characteristics they look and act the same.Reading through reports from the USA you realise you could be reading about our yowie.Hope you are safe and please tell us about any future incidences.

Lozza-for some reason I've gotten the impression that your Yowies are are far more ferocious than our Sasquatch! I think Neil's adventures seem to indicate that some are playful-after viewing those videos it did make me wonder if they are almost the same. Diversity of temperament in the population.

Chris-Funny comment about the blinds. If ever I saw one at my window I would move-seriously. They're smart enough-they know they can scare people if they choose. I suspect that before they ever try to catch your attention they have already spied on you enough to know what your habits are. Of course, that is in a developed area. When we are in their territory, they do as they please.

Bigfoot will come into fully developed neighborhoods, both day and night, just to follow a researcher home and listen to his words, his thoughts and his dreams. If at night, they don't like what you are dreaming, then they slap the side of the house in order to wake you up and change the channels. They want to know whether you are "good people", with "good intentions" towards the Bigfoot. If they like you, they may slap the side of the house, just to let you know that they are there. Then you can just whisper to them and they will telepathically read whatever you said.

An interesting theory / supposition, but I'd like to see more down to earth proof.

Joined this forum just to post this!
I used to live with my parents on a rural property just outside of Townsville, QLD.
Around about 2004/2005 I had a "house slapping" experience there.
Just some quick info: my parents live on small acreage in Jensen, just north of Townsville. It's semi-rural, and while we do have neighbours on both sides of us, they are quite far away, and the land behind our house is pure bush.
Our/my parents home is single story, with a large veranda all around.
I can't remember the exact date, or time, but for my last years of High School I was a night owl so it must have been on or just after midnight (my mum was already in bed, and my dad was somewhere else because of work).
I was sitting at my computer, which was in the "rumpus" room, the complete other side of the house from the bedrooms. The computer desk is right next to an almost floor to ceiling window, with just some gauzy curtains and a security screen. It's pitch black there at night, and you can see in from the outside, but can't see out, and the veranda lights weren't on.
I didn't have any music playing, just reading/writing something for school, when two almighty BANGS rang out, sounding like someone hit the security screen right next to me, slightly above the position of my head.
I was in shock, I literally stared at the curtain next to me for a few seconds before I almost broke a leg throwing myself out of the chair and away from the window. A few seconds after that my mum came into the room asking what the noise was. She had heard it from the other side of the house with a closed door!
We're both kind of freaked out, so she turns on the veranda lights (that god the switches are inside the house) and we look through the windows. Nothing. No clue who or what made that noise.
Mum kept saying it must have been a possum, but I grew up out there, and never heard a possum make that noise before or since then.
Needless veranda lights were on when I worked at the computer after that night... I still get shivers and I don't live there anymore.
Are there any other sightings from the Townsville region??

Opps! Should be "needless TO SAY veranda lights were on... "

Welcome to the forum.
Interesting experience, thanks.
There have been plenty of reports from that area, especially of Jujundee.

Hi Danni,
While I live in SE QLD now, I come from the Burdekin area, just south of Townsville.
I have heard of a number of reports from the Burdekin area and surrounds but I'm not sure if they have been officially reported.
My nephew saw a small one (Junjadee) bolt through the beam of the headlights between their two vehicles while out shooting along the Burdekin river. It was moving fast on all fours. He did not really know anything about Yowies and was trying to tell my Dad he saw an ape. He got laughed at of course. My Dad believes they are real but still couldn't resist stirring him up. It must be an Aussie male thing.
If you are familiar with the area, there are a lot of people who build holiday shacks on the crown land buffer zone between the beach and the first property boundary. They do this right along the coast from the Burdekin down to Bowen. One gentleman from AYR was in his shack playing cards with friends when one walked up to the open door and looked in at him. By the time he stopped swearing and jumped up it was gone.
Another report involves some teens being chased by one on the dunes near the Home Hill beach. They bolted on their 4-wheelers.
Yet another report of deer being strangely killed with necks broken comes from Rita Island.
So yes there is activity around and not just in the mountainous regions. They will inhabit any ecosystem that gives them water, food and concealment, right down to the shoreline and the mangroves.
Hopefully one day I might be able to track down some of these people for an interview and visit the sites.
Cheers
Trev
