Today's Herald Sun (14/1/2017) has a report on another sighting just outside of Melbourne.

The black cats numbers are obviously growing in Victoria but there have been a few from NSW and Qld so the population of cats is fairly widespread. Lucky for the government nobody has been eaten yet considering they have known for decades they are running around in the bush.

What Lozza says makes sense.
The media seem to be paying more attention to the big cat issue. A further report in today's Melbourne Herald Sun mentions another horse attack.

Thanks Scotty. Another good one!
Have just looked at this excellent article from the Weekend Australian files. It's called 'Big cats prowl the bush' and makes for riveting reading.
The Victoria Police sighting would no doubt have included dashcam evidence if it was more recent. I'll bet it will happen one day.
Hard to know what could be captured first. A big cat or a Yowie. Social media around the world would have a field day if it happened and if the footage was good enough, I've no doubt news and current affairs would give it a run. Some people think it wouldn't happen, but as Greg has suggested, social media is the new news medium. So who needs the 6 o'clock bulletin anyway?
I have my car booked in next week to install the best front and rear dashcam setup available... just to do my bit! You simply never know what's around the next bend...

Thanks Searcher great article, I have a dash board camera in my car and carry two GoPro's when i head out to the country roads, just in case!
Have you read "Australian Big Cats" by Michael Williams there is some good stories and reports in it.

Hi scotty9. Sounds like you have a great setup there!
I have been procrastinating putting a dashcam in my previous car for quite a while as I wanted a fully integrated system. Now the new wheels have arrived it makes sense to do it now and do it properly.
Thanks for the heads up on the book Australian Big Cats by Michael Williams. I will make an effort to buy it.
