Last Saturday night i went Yowie Researching with a fellow member of my Blue Mountains Yowie Research Group. We hiked along the trail all the way to Faulconbridge Point where there is a fantastic lookout. On the way there which is a 6.4km hike, We did hear some noises and used our Parabolic Dish to record anything we heard. On any occasion we thought we heard something we stood still and recorded for awhile. While 3/4 of the way to the end of the trail i thought i heard a noise so we stopped and i recorded this on the Parabolic Dish. What i recorded wasn't heard by ear just with the Parabolic. Head Phones for best Result.

I can hear it without headphones. Sounds like some vocalisation in there as well?

Sounds like someone or something making noises with their fingers/hands Daniel .

I only heard some finger clicks & Or Mouth clicks. I have never recorded anything like it before. I have left sound recorders out for weeks to months at a time, I've recorded all sorts of sounds from animals known and unknown but never anything like this. When I heard this recording it sounds like at least two creatures are communicating between each other. To estimate how far away they would of been from us I'd say maximum 8 metres. I will listen to it again and see if there is some sort of vocalisation there in this recording.

I've had a good listen with headphones. I can hear the pops or clicks. Yes it does sound like something communicating. I think what i thought were vocalisations was actually the pops. Very odd thats for sure!

Thats also interesting they are so close to you. Just goes to show how cunning they can be. We heard similar noises after our encounter back at the tent. Also similar to what Rusty calls churtling i think. Im no animal expert but it was very unusual and something ive always wondered about.

Great way to communicate undetected if it is them. Im sure they have a lot of different types of vocalisations.. Cheeky buggers!
