Hi all , I went out today to my spot to retrieve the card from my trail cam , the camera is set up in a little gully about 10m x 10m and probably 10 - 12 ft deep . The first time I went in the gully I found a " possible footprint " so I placed the camera there , facing a track ( it is about 15m from the track ) . It is on a tree at one end about 1200mm high . I placed some fruit and veg in the trees at the front to see what would come for tea ( only birds not even a possum )
Today when I went out (the camera has been out for about 3 weeks ) , the first thing I noticed was the area in general looked as if it had been disturbed , but it has been windy , all the fruit was gone except a capsicum ( I don't blame them for leaving that ).
then I noticed the top clip of the camera was undone , I looked around and there was an area of ferns the size of a dining table that had been flattened , like a bed , this was about 8 ft away from the camera just out of view of it , it was getting dark so couldn't look for hair etc so I can see a sick day coming this week .
When I checked the card at home a lot of the videos were corrupted maybe because the clip was undone , but on one which I have attached here you can hear something standing beside the camera grunting and breathing and at the 7 sec mark you can hear it undoing the clip , I have had a fair amount of success in this area and am now going to go back for another overnighter very soon
Also when I was in the gully I heard a branch break above me and my dog , a greyhound , was staring off into the distance in one direction crying and whimpering
The video is only 10 sec long but when I go back this week ill lengthen the clip size , I also attached a short video of the gully , hopefully it comes across to what I am seeing

Ok does anyone have a solution for compessing the files , I used clipchamp but it may not of worked

Works fine on android phone and yeah i can hear something movin around and a possible " click" there...

It works fine for me. Some people may not have the right plug-in on their computer.

The noise is interesting.
It sounds to me like something chewing right next to the cam and then the clicking noise it where it brushes against the device and it maxes the microphone out a bit.

I had no trouble viewing on an iMac. Just highlight and click on “Noises-converted with Clipchamp.mp4.”

It will download and appear as a file on the bottom left of the AYR page.

Then just drag to the desktop, double click to open, then click on the play arrow, turn your sound to full volume then listen and wonder.

It's just a simple mp4 file that most computers should be able to play. Works fine for me!

There certainly is something in there near your camera. The only problem is, what is it. It does sound like its bipedal though. Keep researching the area. I like that fact you have your greyhound with you. I have a greyhound at home and would love to take him along with me, but unfortunately I go into National Parks and he would do something stupid. Keep up the good work.

It definitely sounds like something deliberately approaching and checking out the device. I'm not sure how many animals in that area would or could do that, so you may be onto a good area, there.

It's intriguing to me that many of these sound recordings seem to give us more practical information and understanding than the multitude of blurry images we're all so used to wading through.

You're doing a great job, that's my main thought.

Thanks everyone , I am going back tomorrow earlier than i normally get there ( sometimes its hard to get there as the area is over 2 hours away ) to have a good look at the possible bed and I am going to point the camera more towards it , so hopefully might get a hair or two

Also just adding Simon that apart from the usual bird life , there are roos , wallabies , wombats , deer and feral cats just the usual suspects , I havent found any evidence of pigs etc

The audio is intriguing. It definitely sounds like a good place to continue doing research.
