Hey all,
New member here, i call myself gecko because im a big fan of reptiles, im a fencer by trade and spare time im fishing or looking for venomous snakes, animals and hunting foxs are my passion, ive have had everything from massive pythons to freshwater crocodiles since i was about 12, ive never belived in yowies or big black cats due to spending most of my life in the bush and never coming across anything out of the ordinary, well untill about 2 years ago!
My family has a large farm up past bendigo in a little town called 'bealiba'. It was about 4:15am when something woke my wife and i up with one hell of a growl / raw. It was about 15mts from our caravan and lasted a few seconds then it was gone. I did a bit of research and it turns out that the locals have heard a large cat like creature that raws so loud even dogs get scared. Its like a lion.. my dad didn't belive me until he heard it a few weeks after i did at about the same time. Locals call it the "bealiba beast"
Im going crazy now because im loosing my mind trying to find out what the hell it could be. Yowie or panther! Who knows but one thing i know is that theres a big animal in that bush that ripped the legs of our sheep without making much mess and can rip a kangaroo in half.. What the hell does that!

Hmm.. its got me really thinking if the bush is safe to walk around? Im looking at buying a good night vision monocular that also records and i recently bought a yowie suit aswell, time for me to pick my spot and hide in the bush from about 3am untill 7ish. If i lay dead still then maby i can record something walking back to its hideout. Unless it picks up my sent first. Dunno what to do really. Its a bit scary

Sounds like you’ve caught cryptid syndrome, might be too much of a distraction for someone with a young family.
Then again you’ve got to protect them.
I’d be careful wearing that Yowie suit out in the scrub, you might get mistaken for another male
or taken hostage by the Yowie who sees an opportunity to start a family.
I don’t know how much of the forums on AYE you’ve read, there is a wealth of information
regarding field research, especially things you shouldn’t do.

Sounds interesting what’s been happening up at Bealiba, has there been any sightings other then the roars at night.

Hey tuckeroo, haha i did actually think of being mistaken for another creature and causing something to attack me.. theres 1 guy who belives it could be a thylacoleo (marsupial lion) and others say panther. Now ive heard bendigo is a yowie hotspot so im interested in all 3 possibilitys.

Your right aswell! Im becoming obsessed and the wife thinks its funny, she heard it too though but she just aint interested.. amazes me though
