Here are a couple of new prints I have found recently after revisiting an old site that
has had some new activity in it again after a long time

both prints measured 37 cm

An honest question for anyone who can answer it.

Why are footprints rarely to be found in pairs here in Australia?, and why do individual footprints never look the same?

Very good question Dion.

Thats a good question however see below, in my photos i just isolated the best ones but there some kind of track way. Due to the water there is no way of telling exactly what type of prints they but you can see Roo prints off to the right as well. In all the prints I have ever found its ussually the weakest part of the ground that takes the print.......just a thought

Gday all pretty new to the forums but I believe I may be able to answer your question Dion.
IMO alot of Australia's substrates are quite firm due to lack of rainfall
making it very difficult to discern tracks from alot of animals. The best place for tracks to be found would be near water or where water runs off hills/rocks leaving a softer/muddy substrate for tracks to be left behind.

I suspect largely because when people think they are looking at Yowie tracks they are in fact looking at other things.

It is all in the eye of the beholder (For example, in Ray's first image he says he can see a roo print whereas I see what looks like a pig's trotter).

I don't really see anything other than what Wolf suggested (pig trotter) in the first print, I think if it was an overlay there would be a deeper heel print looking at the depth of the trotter. The second print is certainly interesting.
Did you get a width measurement? And what is causing the sun lines in the photo?

I don't think too many people outside of the yowie research community have the faintest clue and just aren't looking for them.

Here is my wee collection along with a 1.5 million year old anomaly.
