Dear All

Yesterday I received possession of all of the plaster and cement casts from Gary Opit for the Barbara Holdsworth collection.

I am still working on getting better photographs of the casts, however for the moment I have uploaded what I have taken photos of for your enjoyment.

Some of the casts are fair in quality, and some are just plaim excellent. I have several casts of Yowie toes and front pads. I have quite a few of cat prints, which look like dog prints, but are not as Barbara saw the creature making the print. So for all of you who think you have large dog prints, think again, we just may well be re-writing the rule book.

There are other prints there, which Barbara calls 16 claws. Well about that one, I just don't know. I suspect that it may be some sort of unknown marine creature, but I am equally open to the fact that it may be some whole kind of new type of animal.

There is one set of prints, that all I can say is, "s#@t it must be big". I have one cast, which possibly may be that of a Yowie, which is just absolutely enormous. Barbara says it is 9 foot tall. I would say, and the rest. It is just massive. Perhaps Quinkin, do still exist.

You can make up your mind on the rest of them yourselves. I am going to be spending a week up at Portland Roads in June July 2007, so who knows what I will find. I think I will need to be well supplied in Plaster of Paris though.

Anyway, hope you find the inclusion on my Big Cats section interesting. Let me know what you think. The site location is http://uqconnect.net/~zzpclach/index.htm -> Big Cats -> The Holdsworth Collection.

Hi Paul,

I've handled these casts first hand while at Gary's house, and I agree that some of them are totally unexplainable.....

I have some good video footage of Gary running through each one which I may add to the site.

Nice work on your website. I hope you get some results on the casts.
