Possible Western Australian Footprint thoughts please?
Gday all
Did an expedition to the Avon Valley National Park today and literally stumbled across this (what I believe to be a) print. It measures 29-30cm long and at the widest point 10-11cm, it was very washed out and the photos don't do it justice but it had a very distinct foot shape but it also had a lump/ridge of soil through the mid point of the foot,
I was far to excited to check around the immediate area for any other prints/hair.....I'll chalk that up to a rookie error.
I have attached three photos let me know what you think.

IMHO, not a print. There is no sign of compression in the dirt from what I can see.

Thanks mate the photos don't really do it justice it was pretty washed out. I am in two minds about it myself. I thought bunny scratchings or very washed out print.
Never hurts to ask the questions. I'm planning an overnighter in the area there is alot of animal sign in there and some endangered wallabies I'd like to get a glimpse of too.
Cheers

Good attitude Slats. Doesnt hurt to ask. Good luck with that overnighter. At least you will see some rare Wallabies if results arent forthcoming.

Thanks YB
It seems like a promising area had an interesting night on the other side of the river a month or so back. What sounded like "stamp stamp slap" near a tree on the the other side of a parrot bush thicket needless to say I didn't hang around and the next morning I couldn't get into the spot to investigate further.
There's certainly more animal sign on the northern side I would appear to be used less.
See what happens hey
Cheers

Hi Slats.
The tree slapping sounds promising. Maybe leave an audio recorder as close as you can get into in that area? Make sure you take your yowie repellent-strong led torch that is!

I might give that a go if my overnighter is uneventful. I have a led lenser head lamp and a led lenser torch if ut gets to freaky I'll turn it to daylightYowie bait wrote:Hi Slats.

Hey Slats,
I can't really say what it is, as you said its very washed out and you can't make out much in pictures as you can when you're actually there. When
we find things that are curious to us we should still post our findings so we can all learn. Keep Searching Slats.

I'm heading back for an overnighter on Thursday it was pretty thick heading down to the river so I'll stay up on the hills where its a bit more open see what I can stir up.
I've got video of the expedition so once I have done the overnighter I'll try to put it up on youtube.
