Possibly, who knows... ?

Isn't it interesting that within one month of visiting Putin, the new prince of Saudi Arabia arrests all the top Saudis connected to the CIA and Pentagon?

And that just before the arrests began, Jared Kushner, Trump's son-in-law spent days with 'his Majesty'?

But then Saudi Arabia practically declares war with Iran (without actually doing so), KIDNAPS the Lebanese PM and 'encourages' him to resign... a move seemingly designed to trigger another Lebanese Civil War.

Add to these tensions the blustering and sabre rattling between the Don and the Ung (Kim Jong) and the pessimist in me thinks that war is inevitable.

But then the optimist sees political Kabuki being played by all sides.
I am convinced Trump's warmongering is his salesmanship for the US weapons industry (its largest by far).
By talking up the dangers of war he sells more 'product' and gets the US economy firing again.

I am also convinced by the optimist in me he and Putin have a lot in common but play Kabuki politics to keep the tactical edge over thier opponents...

So is war coming?
We are already in it, and have been for quite some time, but not WWIII, that has been and gone and was the longest war of all three for it essentially raged from '45 to '92 under another name... the so-called Cold War. WWIII is an apt name for it was literally a war mostly waged in the Third World.

What we are now in is WWIV and it has been slowly simmering, exploding here and there since the Cold War ended... Iraq, Serbia, Yugoslavia, Bosnia, Afghanistan, Iraq again, Libya, Syria, Ukraine.

Will it escalate to nuclear between Russia, China and USA?

Nope... the generals in the power structure are interested in making money and global annihilation would mean a drastic drop in profits.

The boil will continue forsee it slowing down to a few localised simmering pots to eventually stop altogether by about 2025-30.

Is that also relevant? Or was it misreported, and was it actually the Lebanese PM?

It was the PM of Lebanon.
He flew to Kuwait in a Saudi private jet after resigning, then returned to Saudi Arabia where he is under a kind of 'house arrest'. He had been sharing government with Hezbollah, the 'arch enemy' of Israel.

In Israel's proxy war against Syria Hezbollah has grown from being an already tough, Iranian-trained fighting force to a very tough, battle-hardened, well disciplined army... which goes to show, you create that which you fear.

In 2006 the IDF attempted one of thier many 'mowing the grass' expeditions (that is actually what they call these murderous campaigns). But thier high-tech forces this time met with a low-tech Hezbollah who had planned well and kicked thier arses back to Israel with very heavy losses.

The IDF realised they would never again be able to 'mow the grass' without suffering very bad losses. They had to do something. They knew Iran trained and supplied Hezbollah via Syria so pressured the US to attack Iran over the old 'Iran is building a bomb' chestnut. Nuttyahoo even resorted to holding up a cartoon picture of a bomb when addressing the UN over the matter. Already bogged down in Afghanistan and Iraq, the pentagon politely refused to directly engage for Israel, who knew they risked Syria attacking them if they bombed Iran themselves. So they tried to take down Syria first via a Colour Revolution.

This is why Iran came to Assads aide... they knew once Syria fell, they were next.
And why Hezbollah also sent thousands of troops into Syria to help.

The Mossad plan was all working very nicely and Israeli jets even bombed Syrian forces to help thier proxy Jihadi army, whose injured are treated in Israeli hospitals... but then Putin changed the checkers board to a chess board. He knew if things progressed and Iran fell, Russia's soft underbelly in the Caucasus would be exposed to the Jihadi forces

For those who don't know the truth behind the Iranian 'nuclear threat'...

The fact is Iran sits on Oil reserves bigger than Saudi Arabia, but it is not 'sweet' like SA oil and requires heavy refining... which in turn requires enormous electricity production. There is no way Iran's power stations can generate enough electricity to refine their own crude without building nuclear power stations.

The US will refine their crude for them as long as they only sell their oil for USD (the infamous 'petro-dollar that Saddam Hussein tried too move away from and got invaded for trying). So Iran made a deal with a couple of European countries willing to refine their crude for other currencies. The US said 'No way!' and sanctions were slapped on Iran to prevent this from happening.

So Iran had no other option but to go down the nuclear energy path. The Hegemon could not allow this either so accused Iran of trying to build a bomb to stop countries from being able to supply Iran with technology for nuclear power. Mossad even went so far as to assassinate Iranian scientists working on the project.

For all his (many) faults, Obama worked to assist Iran with their development with the famous/infamous 'Iranian Deal'. (Don't get me wrong, Obama was/is a tool of the establishment, but he DID do some things right.)
