Ron gave this article to me today, i found this interesting. I personally saw the photo of a steel cage a small dog was in on a patio at mount mee. The cage was bent and the door been ripped of.The dog missing. A lot is going on around my and rons area, sightings seen now every couple of weeks at beerwah and elimbah from ordinary people from their homes.
Eventually there will more people coming out that they are NOT just flesh and blood. Dee

A lady who purchases hay from me told me:
quote: i drove home the other night with my son in the car ( he is 18 ), we were heading up the road from your place, we both saw a black man standing in the bush, he then started to walk out, i had passed him in the car, thought it odd someone would be out here. I did a u turn in the car and we both said thats not a man, it is too tall and big, at a closer look i realised it was not black but a dark tan colour and looked like hair all over. It then started crossing the road, i asked my son where it was and my son said he's already across the road. It was that fast. We continued to drive home. ELIMBAH.

She was terrified telling me, i said it could have been a yowie.
I have tried contacting this lady since, i am sure she has moved out of the area.
Ron did a trip there in his car and smelt horrid smells in the bush, like dead animals.

Ah yes , those damned invisibility reports just keep coming in despite our best efforts to explain them away ..........

The comments in Hurleyboy's link were disappointing . Made me think that we're wasting our time .
Had a quick look at Dean's link and saw the poll , thank god people believe in it . I think there now is a new generation of open minded people out there .

The Poll shows nearly 50% of the population on the Sunshine Coast consider the Yowie as reality. People who live in many rural areas know of them and/or know those who have seen them over decades/generations.

If anyone was to ask 'what evidence' besides the physical anecdotal, Witness evidence is supreme. If first hand Witness evidence was not 'evidence', then millions of people from all around the World for Centuries, would not have been dragged before Court's of Law providing their Witness evidence.

Therefore, Witness evidence is evidence. No argument there.

Upon the weight of thousands of first hand Witnesses in this Country, particularly along the GDR, there is no wonder acceptance is nearly 50%

I'm actaully quite surprised it's 47 percent , I wonder if it always was this amount or is this something new ?

Are we making a difference ?

I was also thinking of talking to our local government representatives or petitioning the senate .

But what would we petition them for ?

Disclosure , species recognition , a scientific survey ? I think we'd have to be very careful what we wished for . Or would they just laugh at us ?

My point is , sitting around debating photographs isn't getting us anywhere .

What about lobbying ?

From my perspective, I have no interest or need to widen their notoriety other than what we already do. I feel no need to make a forced spectacle of them.

Having a Website, information and Database for current and future Witnesses and Researchers is what is important. Priceless information for generations to come.

People come here for a reason and resource. Those such as Rusty and others help people understand and comprehend them more clearly.

That's all that matters for now. We do enough, cough, for now......

Hey Dean , I'm not even sure if I want to expose them anymore , I've even thought of deleting the website to spare them .

I would like more Australians to believe in it but that's all I'd want , exposing them any further may have unforseen circumstances like shooting oursleves in the foot and shooting them in the back .

On the other hand , they keep exposing themselves . What to do ?

Hey Dean have you given much thought to setting up your website and database for long term survival?
The internet isn’t as permanent as many people think it is, with sites dying all the time.
And of course disaster recovery and key man risks need to be thought through too.

The other thing I wonder about is the scenario where someone hits a yowie with their car, and a body is on all the news channels in the world. Would this site stay up under the deluge of visitors??? How good is your hosting basically is my question :-)

I work in software... I could over a few pointers if you need them.

Exposure and public acceptance opens up a very large can of worms and once the genie is out it is impossible to put it back in the bottle. They're doing quite alright as it is. This might sound harsh but so what if the occasional human goes missing... it's a big bad world and far more humans die from other humans than from all other animals combined.

You both make good points. If anything we should get them protected but thats not going to happen without the evidence.

Websites like Rusty's and Ayr are handy resource for the public and those confused souls who have had a bad experience.

If the hairys are coming in closer to the suburbs then they will do themselves in eventually and with more and more development of their habitat we will always be living side by side and closer than ever.

The next generations may have a very public knowledge of them!

Interesting reports; it seems that when new estates are being built, our hairy friend becomes grumby about losing land. And who can blame the hiary guy.

My job has me doing shift work where I get to drive through semi rural country in the early hours of the morning. My eyes are always on the look out for anything out of place!

Whoops.. just realised that this is the exact article as an earlier post - Sorry about that.

I'm a newbie to the forum and have just started actively reading up about Yowies.. a friend of mine spiked my interest in Yowies when she told me about a few sightings nearby in Roleystone WA a while a go so I've been researching on/off for the last year or so, but now I'm hooked!!

This time of year is peak activity because of the heat. I ve located a thicket in Chuwar that , what I think is an entire clan, are using because the temp in there has got to be 15 deg less than the mean daytime temps. Fair enough too with that permanent fur coat in 36 deg heat. Could be used to our advantage as investigators. Shows that they could have potentially predictable behavior patterns. I Arrived in SE qld mid January last year and almost immediately filmed what I alleged was the Ipswich yowie in very similar stifling weather. This year they seem particularly active, I've filmed tons of sus eye shine and a few grunts and roars. Today I posted a video of an ugly sucker leering out at me from the thicket. I even got a report from Port Augusta in SA of one on the main drag chasing an old lady....the main street...well lit? I'm sure its temperature related.
