A grampus of the middle size Leapd with his whole body out of water several times making a Splash and foam in the sea as if a mountain had fallen into it.
Although Sir Joseph Banks' journal mentions this, it's worth remembering that 'Grampus' was a term used in old England to describe whales, and Moreton Bay and our eastern coastline is still the playground of the Right Whale to this very day. Calling it the 'first mention of the Moha Moha' might be a bit of a misnomer, but I suppose we'll never truly know for sure.

Having said that, the description of the creature is nothing akin to a whale as we would recognize it, so thanks for the post. :)

Couldn't help thinking though... if only Miss Lovell had a mobile phone to grab some video of her amazing experience... but unfortunately she would have needed to be a time traveller to do that. :)
