Observations and Advice

I was recently in an area near the Wollemi wilderness. It an area that I have frequented for over ten years, staying in a friends small shed. There have been some indicators to activity, tree pushed- sound, but no fallen tree found , and wood knocks.
During this last summer it became quite obvious that there is no night sounds. Not a cricket, cicada, frog, nothing.
I got up after midnight and as I was aware of the silence, I decided against going to sleep, rather, I sat quietly to listen.
Absolute night silence. No feelings of danger, doom, etc. Just one thing. A faint buzzing sound. It was from outside as it was only noticed when I was standing at an open window. Almost like an insect, almost having an electrical buzz to it. Monotone, constant. After about 15 - 20 mins of listening, I did go back to bed.
Any advice?

There is no electricity avaialable and the nearest power pole is a mile away

The latest Youtube AYR audio report was in the Broke area which is pretty close to Wollemi NP.

Also there is a geomagnetic LeyLine that crosses through Wollemi and that LeyLine intersects with lattitude 33 deg Sth withinin Wollemi.

I have never been to Wollemi but I am familiar with Yengo NP which adjoins Wollemi to the east.

I have been invited by an indigenous friend to attend a corroboree next month near Broke so maybe I might get a glimpse of a hairy person drawn by the drone of the didge and also clapsticks.

Hmmm... I was just thinking yesterday of taking my didge with me to use as an attractant if I get the chance to go stealthcsmping in a hotspot.

Sure beats the idea of whooping or banging on trees IMO

For all we know maybe the hairy people invented the didge and way back in time they passed that knowledge onto the aboriginals...

Maybe a dog whistle might get results ......

It would be great if you could get a recording of it with a decent recorder .
A good quality recording will give you somewhere to start looking as to what's making the noise .

Or you could take an I.R camera and a strong halogen lamp and search for the source?

I have heard of reports of people hearing buzzing in parts of the blue mountains before, the cause..... do not know.

Very similar to people hearing a generator going some believe it to be the cause of paranormal origin.

I too have heard the buzzing at night in the Blue Mountains. Its hard to explain. There were also flashes of light in the sky, very brief, but very noticeable. Definitely not lightning on clear nights, but similar effect.

There a dull droning noise at from up in the hills at Kilkivan which was bizarre. Nobody lives up there. It was more of a whirring noise.

I will have a look-see. I do have a powerful hand held hunting spotlight, and the FLIR Scout has a record function. I shall post an update after my next trip there. I have had trail cameras in the vicinity for many years, with nothing extraordinary, which is sadly... not surprising.
