Camping in Megalong Valley Blue Mountains NSW
Hey all, I’m a very inexperienced camper and are staying in the Megalong Valley, Blue Mountains NSW. Have read numerous reports of sightings in the region, mostly the big fellas....The legend of a “June Monster” pops out to me......(I know it’s May) ......I guess what I am after is any advice of things to do if stuff starts to happen out here tonight. Sorry if I posted this in wrong section guys. Just have a tiny bit of anxiety about staying out here.... But really want too.

My Advice? Just Enjoy. Enjoy this cooler time in the Megalong. It will get quite cool there in Autumn. Don't expect anything. When you expect things, you will kid yourself into seeing and hearing all manner of monsters. Remember that possums , koalas and roos all make grunting or growling sounds (or similar). Megalong is home to feral dogs and feral pigs too. They would keep away from busy campsite activities but could come sniffing around when it gets quiet. Oh,...Enjoy.

Hi just dont worry about the hairys and enjoy yourself. Nothing will happen. Im not into camping anymore but maybe dont poop and pee all over the place and use a bucket. Respect the bush and all that. If you are worried or dont feel right then leave.
They dont seem to like being photographed so keep your camera handy. Id say brandishing anything that could be considered a weapon is a no no. Yowie encounters are very rare but you will scare yourself if you have them on your mind.
Good to see you are considering them as they DO exist and that is a " hotspot". Hope thats a help and have fun!

I did a recent Yowie Night Investigation with a fellow researcher. We went all around during the night, walking everywhere we could but found nothing. So don't be too alarmed mate as they are not always in that area. Enjoy your time there. Ps: Plenty of Wombats and Kangaroos thought.

Gday mate , just relax and enjoy the serenity, you really cant beat it
you will probably hear something during the night but it will in 99% probability be a normal night critter
Not all that is awake at night is a hairy mate
Have fun , I wish it was me
Cheers Greg

Had a awesome time there last night guys, and all of you were correct. Nothing like being out there surrounded by all that green and nature. Was relaxed the whole time, my missus was the one asking me: What was that?!......which were just possums and other little critters round the site. I give probs to anyone on this website who goes out in the middle of nowhere and does some looking!
