So, what IS Bigfoot?

Unread post by Wolf »

Theories abound, the following are my thoughts on one of the more extreme:

“It is a popular urban legend that in the past the scientists of some countries tried to create a ‘Super Soldier’ by combining the genetics of man with apes. The idea was the ape’s immense strength and agility could be supplemented with human intelligence and willingness to follow orders… not to mention they would not be considered ‘human’ and therefore would have none of the rights there-of…”

This is the first of a series postulating and debating the various theories as to what Sasquatch actually is.

i like the idea of exploring what sasquatch or yowies could be. keeping th e conversation strictly in line with this thread pertaining to discussion only about the possibility of a govt experiment.

if it's a genetic hybrid between man and ape then which ape? gorilla? orangutan? maybe some are of one or the other explaining differences in appearance?

how'd they get their stature. they're taller by a lot both humans and apes.

why are they on nearly every continent? which govts involved etc.

I hate to pour cold water on this theory, but peoples the world over have been sighting and experiencing contact in some form or another for hundreds if not thousands of years. This situation pre-dates the formation of scientific techniques that would make such a thing possible, in my eyes, though I am sure I have read somewhere that human-ape experiments have occurred in more modern times, that is, after WWI. In addition, the formation of world governments is a relatively 'new' thing, so to speak, and we know that in Australia for example, indigenous people have referred to the Hairy Folk in rock wall art and lore for a very, very long time.

That is what the linked article gets into.
It's actually a debunking article that goes into depth about Dr Ivanov and his brief foray into creating supersoldiers.

Not a chance in hell, Wolf.

Humans and apes have different numbers of chromosomes (not to mention gene differences). It is impossible to hybridise them so as to create a living creature. Just won't work.

Shazzoir also mentions the fact that sightings have pre-dated the current period by hundreds, if not thousands of years.

I don't profess to know what they are, but I sure as hell know what they are not: human/ape hybrids.

Yep... that's what my linked article says.
