Only new here and wanted to see what peoples thoughts are on habitat?, what i mean is does anyone here consider weather the creature is in its home habitat when sited or are they hunting away from home ?, and is there likely country nearby that they would be more likely to frequent?, do you consider water sources, paths of least resistance and least used, caves etc?
Also has anyone seen them climbing up or down trees?, swimming just trying to get my head around a few things as most of you probably have..?

Also guys i was just wondering what you use as cover stories, as some people arent very receptive to yowie hunters haha
Also do you find dogs attract or detere them?, as i am about to get a service dog and will have it with me most times.

Welcome truthseeker , I take my greyhound out with me and use her as a gauge , if she is stressed and doesn't want to be there
Im sure that they are around , normally my spidey senses are tingling too , and then if she is happy and wants to be out and about , I feel they aren't around
Im not sure about deterring or attracting but they do sense when they are around
Cheers Greg

yeah ate i figured as much and i hear ya regarding the spidey senses mate, i will try and find a few picks of Kalang particularly the area where i use to feel complete dread and run for home...but only in the late arvy, i now think he may have been there each day for a drink, also use to hear something big at the hole i use to fish over the back would see trees moving etc..

Welcome to the forum.
If you want to experience an 'encounter' leave your dog at home. Their curiosity may draw them closer but if you have a dog with you they will respect its sense of smell and are more likely to stay well clear IMO.

Its not where they live, but when they live.
I think their main colony lives in areas that we frequent, but 500 years ago or at a time before humans where here.
They can time travel but then why would they come forward to our time.
Its a theory that has lots of holes.
