my mum's bad dream on the way to Canberra.

Not much doing at work today, I think I 'd like to share a story my mum had.

Back in 2004, age of 26, I just finished my study, got a job then a car to drive around, living in north suburb of Melbourne.

My parents visited me in Melbourne (from overseas), we had planned a trip to drive to Sydney. I was really excited coz it would be my first time long drive.

I somehow, convinced them we departed at 12:00 at night, so we would be able to arrive Sydney in the morning. We could always sleep in the car.

So we departed 12:00 from Craigieburn VIC, definitely passed Albury. The night driving was very boring, coz you don't see much things at night. At about 4am, I was really really tired so we had to stop at somewhere to sleep. I locked the car door of course. I remembered I slept when it was still pitch dark and woke up during the day (can't remember what time). I finally managed to arrive Canberra at 11:00am.

It was after we woke up, my mum told me she had a bad dream, she said in the dream she saw "beggers/hermits in extremely shabby appearance...put hands on the car window and trying to look inside on us." I simply told my mum not possible mum, no homeless people in Australia, everybody has a roof (was true in 2004).

That's it. I was always wondering where I was at. It was not a sleep area, just a random flat space beside the main road. I had no knowledge about yowie back then. I wouldn't say my mum actually saw anything, maybe it IS just a weird dream. But some people do, wake up, see very un-normal things, then close eyes again and thought it s just a bad dream. My mum passed away two years ago before I heard about Yowie, so no chance to ask her about it.

:)

Very true Rusty!

Hey micathia coulda been the hairy men your mum saw! Theyre often seen on the side of or crossing a road.

Years ago some freinds and i were parked on a dirt strip on the side of a highway with a small bit of forest between us and the road. There were a few cars and a truck there but they left before we went to sleep probably bcause we made so much noise..There were about 6 of us including a girl who was sleeping in front seat. Rest of us in the back.

In the middle of the night we were all awoken by a huge slap that shook the car. I was sleeping next to the sliding
door of the van and nearly fell out as it was open. Just then one of my mates came jumping in the van almist running in the air and slammed te door shut looking absolutely terrified!

Turned out that he was taking a pee at the rear of the van when a "massive bloke" walked up beside him and slapped the van. My freind is over six foot and he held his hands around two foot above his head describing the size of the van slapper!!

wow, my car didn't shake a bit. If my mum thought anything about "wild man", she wouldn't mention it to me. When I was child, watched a Chinese "wild man" documentory, scared and could sleep alone for a whole year. :)

Ha yes that would do it! I remember seeing a tv news broadcast of an ipswich yowie encountered when i was very young. I was convinced the bushland they showed on tv was just down the road from our house. It scared the hell out of me and when my parents came home they found me hiding and waiting for it with my sisters softball bat!
