these geophone detectors can sense ground vibrations even from humens and animals from a great distance, they are used in america to sebse the ground vibrations of illeagle imagrants who cross the mexicon border into the usa, and recently when doing a google serch on more information on these , which would be perfect for yowie detection simply by there large size and wieght , they would be detected from even ffurther away via the ground vibrations they make when they walk, the american geophone detecter i read about can sense the foosteps of people from 100 meters away thats pritty good and i found that there is a kit on the market for a ultra sensitive geophone detector that has a row of leds in it and when you bury the geophone detecter it will light these leds 1 at a time as the person or even animal gets closer , the more leds will light so even cats can be sensed by it , there are circuits to make these but the main intergrated circuit part dicksmiths dont have and so ill have to find out who sells them , the kit itself is $19.95 and its sold in america i think as for the actual geophone itself well they seem to sell them in australia itself, but its the actual circuitry that you will need to biuld to use the geophone sensor , i beleave they are perfect for monitoring ground vibrations of yowies ,to i cant seem to find any information that the yowie hunters have one in there arsenal of eqiupment , but ill be looking into it as the geophone itself is just a metal cylender of somekind and it has a spring around it and sits in between a magnet, something like that , and they come in different sizes to and are allso used by those who studdy and monitor siesmic ground vibrations like earth quakes to . and they allso make them to monitor ground vibrations by people and animals , like the deer detector , dose
