Ever seen the bear scene from The Revenant? I don't think that bloke would be walking away! Unless the bear was just playing, or trying to shake hands or something?

Yeah, good point. I recently saw a film about the real bloke that film was made about and they recon he was even tougher than the film says.

Just finding rock stacks. Nothing significant yet. Drive past most of them. I'll start taking picks and do a gallery of them here one day!

This bloke was later arrested for making a false report. There was no 'animal attack'.

Not so far fetched that those are scars from a human on his face. Those are the same scars you get from having your skin scraped by the three middle fingers with long nails by a human hand. I saw it happen to a bloke once outside a pub and the marks were just like that. Bloke deserved it too.

Arrested for making a false report. A hard way to make a few bucks from a story.
The facial scars can be explained as human but jeez those torso scars, human ?
Must have been one hell of a night. Maybe from a drunken fall into some bushes without a shirt on, it was a warm night.
If it was in Australia you’d say it was the type of injuries a roo could inflict. I tend to believe his story because of how long
and deep those stitched scars are. Like to hear the back story on this.

I didnt watch the video after reading ITDs post but had a look and yes the torso scars with the stitches look quite deep. Very nasty indeed!
I remember seeing animal like claws during my encounter. So did my mate but possibly it could be long nails and just different from humans. Some witnesses describe claws and others normal hands?

Yes could be a cover up Austral, the policeman did mention that it was holiday weekend
with lots of people recreating about the place. Sad to think they would purposely frame someone.

I was wondering if he had any scars on his arms or hands. To have facial and chest wounds like that
you'd expect his arms and hands to be injured as well.

I tried to track down this story but only found his court appearance and this earlier news report.
He had other criminal charges against him as well. 28 year old Michael Savage got an extra 95 days on his sentence
for the false attack claim. Authorities claim they were suspicious of his story because he had no other injuries on his body.
Puncture wounds on hands and arms are usually consistent with a Bear attack. He did say he fought the thing for 20 minutes.
Apparently he later admitted to making the story up, but this could just be to expediate his sentencing.
For all we know he could be telling the truth.

I dont know how all this relates to Paul McLeod.
As for this "man's" story, it's reasonable there might be a shallow grave near where he says he was attacked. In that case, a female will be reported missing in the area, or one of his girlfriends went show up to work. Aka Gerard Baden Clay style.
The most likely story though, is his injuries are self inflicted. He's had either an alcohol fueled, or drug fueled, or mental illness fueled hallucination episode, and he did that to himself with his own fingernails.

Fair enough Black……I don't know that much about Bear attacks, types of injuries you'd expect.
Helped me understand Paul McLeod’s injuries look consistent with someone raising their arm to defend themselves.
Left side of torso scratched, then turning to move away and copping another swipe down the top of the right arm.

I suspect those abdominal injuries were not his. That pic showed a distinctly female torso, with a very different skin tone and texture to the mate.

Well from what I know it wasn't a bear or cougar marks, they would be far deeper and more damage would have been caused.
I have seen many first hand human type or small finger nail (compared to a large predator) injuries before and it looked more like that to me. Only one person really know what went on and in these circumstances we will never find out the truth unless the Police get to the bottom of it.
