In hot spot areas of Yowie activity, there is always an absence of an obvious food source. The question arises as to what sustains the creatures. Aside from water courses never being too far away and the 'debatable' tree bites of the NSW Blue Mountains, what are people's theories on this? Where do Yowies derive their sustenance? :

I'd say they would be omnivorous and I doubt they'd be too fastidious about what they ate. Roots, grubs, bugs, vegetable matter, anything they could get their hands on.

There are also larger animals such as wallabies, possums, rabbits and perhaps even the odd unlucky cat or dog.

It is also not uncommon to hear reports of yowies stalking kangaroos.
