Re: Aboriginal peoples are the descendents of two groups
It's an interesting topic, and an interesting link.
I've read theories about how Australian indigenous folks are (allegedly) descended from other groups of people as well - notably the Tamil people of India and the Fuegian people of Tierra del Fuego.
We've no clear idea how many waves of migration may have occurred in ancient times, so it's possible all these groups contributed to the ancestry of modern indigenous Australians. It's also possible that none of them did. There are also the so-called Australian Pygmies, who are/were living proof that there were distinct racial groups co-existing on the Australian mainland for a very long time before Europeans arrived.

The skull he presented from the Pintubi tribal area was interesting with its robust brow, large nasal hole etc... reminiscent of the (in)famous Pintubi-1 skull yet lacking the enormous eye sockets, cone-shaped head... I wonder if it had a similar sized Occipital bun as the Pintubi-1 skull?
Perhaps, he is not holding up two separate races, but one, genetically combined with the Doolighal (as represented by the Pintubi-1 skull IMO)
... DNA mixing from interbreeding the lighter, 'modern H. sapiens' with the Doolighal already here?

Re: Aboriginal peoples are the descendents of two groups
I found this link very interesting, It aligns itself with the belief from the aboriginals saying that yowies were here before them.
I have a contact who is a anthropologist/psychologist (albeit retired) who worked primarily with the aboriginals here in WA.
When I was talking to her one day, she brought up this exact point. She is a firm believer that the modern aboriginals came from two separate hominiods a Robust and a gracile that interbred.

I'm guessing you meant "interbred".Slats wrote: Wed Oct 24, 2018 11:04 am . . . two separate hominiods a Robust and a gracile that interred.
