Strange noises in bushland near Cornubia/Loganholme

Hi Guys
I was up in Brissy for the last week visiting my girlfriend who lives in an area that backs onto a huge expanse of wooded bushland that connects to the Logan river in the Cornubia/Loganholme area.
As you head out toward California Creek its on the RHS of the road and wedged in between there and the freeway to Beenleigh. I know the area as i lived there for 15yrs and only been back in syd for 1..
The back patio drops off into some very dense bushland almost swampy like terrain and you can hear the sound of outboards so the river isnt too far..
While i was there we were sitting on the patio at night and heard huge thumping sounds like big feet stomping and tree limbs breaking. Never heard anything but my mate who shares the house says there have also been strange movements around the house and bangings..
I believe wild pigs are fairly common in the area although never saw any.. Has anyone ever heard of activity in this area.. Its only a shortish distance to Daisy Hill but there would be major roads that had to be crossed to get to this area.
Cheers
Jono
