My mums UFO experiences in El Salvador

So when my mum was a little girl her mother had died and her father for whatever reason sent my mum to live with her grandparents on a farm. So just briefly before I go into her UFO stories, maybe about 5 or 6 years ago I was in the lounge room with one of my sisters and my mum watching tv. I can’t rememebr what we were watching exactly but something about crop circles came on and my mum said “oh we used to get them on our farm” and me and my sister just looked at each other then my sister said “mum do you know what they are?” And my mum just said no. So we explained to her what Corp circles were and that’s when she told us about her experiences seeing UFO’s. And I recently asked her again about it. Maybe about 3 weeks ago.
So yeah my mum was sent to live with her grandparents and as a little girl she worked on the farm. All day everyday. Ok three seperate occasions she saw them. The first time she said that there were a few of them and they were just hanging around the farm about telegraph pole hight and my mum asked one of her uncles what it was. And he said “they’re the martians” obviously in Spanish. She said that they would refer to them as martians or extra terrestrials. But it was like as though they were sort of common. The second time she saw one it was just hanging around then took off really quick. The third time she saw one fly over the top of her house and it crash landed on the farm. People that worked on the farm and her uncles went over to see what had happened and when they came back they said it was the martians and to not go over there.
That’s pretty much it. As I said I asked her pretty recently exactly what she had seen and that’s all she told me. Oh and she said that the UFO’s weren’t big they were about a metre in diameter so pretty small for the average UFO. At least that’s what she said about the ones that were flying telegraph pole hight. Don’t know how big the one that crashed in her farm was. I’ll ask her though!

That's an interesting story. Thanks for posting.
One wonders how many other people have had close-up sightings and they are so "matter of fact" that they don't even report them.
I wonder if the other people ever saw the occupants?

Mad Academic -
The thing is this was back in the day where not only was there no media it was (still is) a third world country so this stuff was wild over there and I think it’s because no one could really do anything about it. Back then there was no reporting it and having it investigated. It was just happening. The stories that I have that my mum has told me are so unbelievable it’s not funny. But you can’t make this stuff up. Times were different and all the myths and local legends are so full on that a lot of the time they were living them in that time. And they were all scared. How were these poor people going to get these stories out? No tv’s or radios back then in El Salvador. They just lived it. Wild things happen all around the world though on a daily basis and unless you’re a part of it or around there areas you’d just never even know it existed.
As for the occupants my mum never experienced them face to face but she said people would talk about other people that did have experiences. I just asked her before about the size of the UFO that crashed and she said it was a small one. But then she told me that people were talking about one they saw that was in the shape of a little person but she never saw it. Which is pretty weird... shape of a little person?? But then she told me (literally about half an hour ago after telling me about the ufo being in the shape of a little person) that one of the scariest things she ever saw was a person flying through the sky and a massive strong wind was following it. And that she thinks it could have been a witch. Since witch craft had a very big presence in central and South America. And still till this day. I hadn’t heard that one before either. Seriously I find new things out semi often. Always amazes me. But yeah they just lived this stuff back then and it could easily just happen because nothing could really be done about it. Not like now

Wow, little ufos! Thats pretty amazing. Much like Mad Academic says above, I like the matter of factness of your Mums experience like its no big deal. Funny how they called them " martians"!?
My parents, along with a beach full of people saw a flying saucer one day. They didnt seem to give a stuff about it and probably only mentioned it because it was relevant to whatever we were watching on tv. Sounds like it just flew over. Probably on the 1940s.
My Father said he and some mates saw a cigar shaped ufo as well when out fishing. Not sure when that one was.

Do you know from about what year this was when she saw the ufos in Venezuela.
Interesting description of essentially a flying humanoid. I remember hearing a story on some TV program about a mexican cop that swore a flying witch attacked his patrol car while he was in it.

My guess would be it was around 1970 give or take.. pretty sure she was born in 63. I’d have to ask her to know for sure though but I know she was a little girl when all this was happening.
I think there’s actually been cases of flying beings in like India and places like that. Like they’re not particularly witches but just beings that fly around. I’ve come across a couple of things like that but never really looked into it. I thought that’s what my mum was talking about at first but yeah she thinks it could have been a witch. Either way it was something. There’s heaps of other really crazy stories that my mums told me. Like really crazy. I’ll share them over time

Yeah I've come across a few reports of flying humanoid like creatures.
I think they're interpreted differently through the lense of each culture. In central america and south america belief in witchcraft is a big thing so they see them as witches. Native Americans have similar phenomena known as anisgina. They often take the form of flying humanoids. But instead of being interpreted as say witches they interpret them as elementals acting as harbringers of disaster. Sort of like a banshee. Many native americans that subscribe to anisgina would consider, say the mothman, as a form of anisgina.
India and other cultures probably see them and attribute them to what matches their perspectives.
Your mom may have seen a ufo. But perhaps it could have been different phenomena going on there too.
You said your mom has lots of interesting stories. I'd love to hear them when you get the chance. I always find this sort of stuff fascinating.
My mom has a interesting ufo story. Sometimes she'll be able to recall it and tell the story. Other times she'll have no memory of it. Which I find odd. The first time she relayed the story was in her early 40s and her cognitive functions are still sharp so its not some form of dementia thats causing the intermittent memory block on the incident. So I find it odd that sometimes she'll remember and other times doesn't. Its almost like it was so odd to her that she subconsciously suppresses it.
Anyways, heres the story. It was the late 70s. She was on my fathers 32 foot sailboat anchored a few miles out to sea somewhere in the channel islands off the coast of Los angeles. Close to catalina island i think. It was around 4am and my mother couldn't sleep so she went above deck to have a smoke. Everyone else was still asleep below deck. It was a foggy night and visibility was limited to a few hundred feet in any direction. She was standing there staring off the bow when she fixed her attention on what appeared to be, 100 feet away, a patch of the ocean glowing and building in intensity like was approaching the surface. It was a greenish yellow color. Then she said some sort of glowing elliptical shaped ball of yellowish white light shot out of the water on an angle and went straight into the sky a second later and disappeared. So she saw some sort of UFO/USO.
My take on the incident was that she saw something military related. Likely from a US submarine. There is a lot of military activity in those waters. I remember once taking a ferry to catalina island when a 688 class attack sub surfaced in our wake and followed us a half click back into harbor at avalon bay. Parked a thoysand feet outside the bay and the crew got shore leave for the night to hit up the bars on the warf there. However, there are also a lot of ufo reports for decades in those waters too. And in the southern California area. All sorts of ufos and anomalous lights.
I find it interesting that much of central and south america has a disproportionate amount of ufo sightings compared to many other parts of the world. Aliens interested in the region for some reason? Cultural bias to attribute unknown phenomenon as ufos? Us defense contractors exploiting cultural biases there and using the place as their playground to test exotic technologies? Sometimes I wonder if incidents like the Colares UFO attacks in brazil werent actually secret military experiments or testing.

Cannot recall which national park in LA, but one of those parks has a long history of strange sightings and deep underground facilities. Bush walkers would often report seeing strange hooded figures "escorting" them off the mountains. The mountains may have been volcanic from memory.
As others have said, please tell us more stories.

Yowie88 if you mean LA like los angeles. There are a lot of sightings north in the santa monica mountains all the way east into the deserts. But given the density of military bases and R&D going on there its no surprise. There is a lot one can see if they look up just outside LA if you're in the mountains or deserts there. I know this from multiple personal experiences
