Unread post by Yowie Chaser »

Hi Guys, Yowie Chaser.

Today near Canungra i found some hair wrapped in a fence in a creek.

Have no clue what it is. To me its thicker then human hair and it as long as my size 12 thong.

Im still out around Canungra tonight just having a feed.

So ill put up the photo we took today.

Has anyone got any pic to see there same

Hey Yowie Chaser , Australian animals do not have hair that long which means it's most likely cow or horse hair . That doesn't mean that it is but fences are excellent for collecting cow and horse hair .

As you know and have heard there are multiple species of yowies and witnesses describe long and short hair and some describe fur or a "pelt" . This means that there are different types of hairs and only a close inspection will reveal who may own it .

Your going to need a microscope and the Hair ID program . https://www.ecobyte.com.au/hair_id.html

Here is a link with many pictures of hairs under a microscope . http://www.microlabgallery.com/hair.aspx

You need a microscope to analyse the hair samples first then use the Hair ID program to check what you found . :D
