I've been out in the forest 3 times since December trying to collect kangaroos and wallabies to add to my new charts and have collected some fascinating stuff .
On the 30.12.2018 at 8:02pm , a piece of audio . I've never heard it before and thought you'd like to hear it .

Hey Rusty.
Great, clear recording and definitely different to their usual crashing about. Do you think the subject was moving or stationary?.

Hi, thats got me stumped, played it over and over, very difficult to describe that sound. Is the bush your in plentiful with dead palm leaves? Nearly sounds musical . Indeed different. Thanks for that.

Yes, I have to agree with adventurer, it does sound almost musical, like a beat or rhythm.
Palm frond against a tree? If it's recorded in an area without palms it's got me?

Hey Dave , I think the subject moved , then stamped then ran off . You know when you walk outside and find a dog doing a poop in your front yard ? You chase it off then stamp a couple of times giving the dog the impression your still running . I think this is an attempt at intimmidation towards the audio recorder setup to see what it does or something similar .

No it's just normal bush . I believe it's
them because on the following night , I'm assuming the same subject comes back at the same time (802pm) and does the same thing only not as vigorous . Another subject then turns up and there's lotsa running around for over an hour . Grunts and intelligent tones were also recorded .

I believe it's stamping BlueDog but I've never heard it before anywhere .

Okay, I plead ignorance - what's the difference between stomping and stamping?

Hey Simon . When I say stamping I mean like a kid have a tantrum . In this case I believe it's a deliberate action to get a respnose from the audio box although I can't prove that hypothesis .

When I say stomping I mean deliberately going out of your way to emphasise each footstep .

Stamping 2. Hi, to me it sounds like 6 steps walking then scuffling sticks/leaves /with feet. Like its hurrying to a area to find something in the ground cover. But then the 6 steps sound to close together to be a large subject stride and the steps seem light, not heavy. This one is really hard. Cant wait to hear more, in same spot to try figure this out. Great audio though.

'Twas Greg who asked.
I do agree that whatever was making that sound was doing so in order to announce itself or assert itself deliberately. It sounds considered & repetitive and not at all random.

Sorry Greg , sorry Simon .
Hey Adventurer , yeah it's unusual . I can understand the first piece of audio but not the second . ??? WHY
Hey Simon , yes it seems considered & repetitive . An attempt to elicit a response ?

Hey Rusty
That's certainly interesting. It's got that sound like
"something" on two legs. I have heard something similar when I and my visiting British friend (believe that) escorted out of an area one night. I think it deliberately made itself known again to keep us moving.
It's got that sound like someone stumbling over something in a thick ground cover of leaves.
Nice capture!

Hey Rusty.
Just out of interest, how often do you get similar sounds being made at almost exactly the same time on consecutive nights?
Cheers,
Iwanna.

I agree with you - it was either done to elicit a response or it was done to intimidate anyone who might present a challenge/threat. Maybe both things.

Hey Slats , yes it sounds like something on 2 legs . Mmm , escorted , know what you mean and how they make you aware of them .
Hey iwanttobelieve , it's not unusual to have random activity on consecutive nights but I've never recorded that sound and to have it repeat at the exact same time (802pm) with the exact same sound or action has never happened .
Simon , I can't know 100% for sure but I'd reckon your right .

Well that's interesting , did you feel intimidated or was it an "I hear you" type thing .
