Bright Light Floating in Bush

Hi There,
I was going to keep this to myself but what the hell. Maybe someone will know what this was. A couple of years back it was around 10.30pm at night and we were bored so my husband and friend decided to go for a drive down Kings Tableland Road. We joked that we were going yowie hunting so about 15km down the road we slowed down in the car to see if we would see or hear anything with the windows down, it was completely dark. We were driving so slow we were almost at a stop when out of the darkness from the right hand side of the road came a bright whiteish-blue light which was floating in mid air. It's difficult to explain but it seemed to be moving with purpose like it knew where it was going and seemed to float/glide so smoothly. I've never seen anything like it. It moved across us and to the left hand side of the road near my window and then disappeared into the bush. I mean it literally vanished in front of my eyes, I shone a torch all around where it disappeared and I couldn't see anything, it didn't reappear. There was nothing about that could reflect light, it was too big to be an insect and it seemed to be it's own light source and was definitely not attached to anything. I'd say it was about the size of a golf ball maybe a little smaller. I had time to say "What IS THAT?" and my husband said "I don't know" We just watched it. We didn't feel scared or intimidated. Does anyone know what this was? I couldn't get over it for weeks and I've always wondered what it was.
